Hi, my name is Ellen and I love dogs! I'm a freelance writer, theatre artist and composer with many years of dog owning, sitting and walking experience. My time is quite flexible, and taking care of dogs is one of my favorite things to do. I loooove dogs, and have been working as a profession walker and sitter for more than five years. It is usually easiest for me to dogsit in your home. However, I can occasionally dogsit in mine as well. My roommate has a dog, however, so we would just need to make sure they get along. I have fourteen years of pet owning experience, with extensive knowledge in breeds, training and how to keep a dog well exercised. To me, pets are just like family, and deserve to be treated with as much love, care, and stimulation as possible. I would love to meet your pet! I also speak French and Spanish, if those are languages that you use to communicate with your dog. I am familiar with how to deal with breeds of all sizes! Why I love taking care of dogs: I have always been a dog lover, though I really became a full convert fourteen years ago when I got my first dog (though she now lives with my family full time.) Since then, I've been very involved with dogs, from dog hikes in and around the forests and mountains of British Columbia to participating in a dog park community when I was a university student in Philadelphia. I've been Rovering for several years now, in both San Francisco and New York. My experience administering medication: I am comfortable administering most medications. I am especially experienced with caring for dogs with Addison's disease (my family's dog has Addison's), and have also dealt with hospital visits and the administration of antibiotics and painkillers, as well as special diets. I am very good at following directions. I once had a dog go through an emergency while I was Rovering. I must say that the team at Rover, the owner and the Mission Pet Hospital in SF were all great!
