Hi there! I'm a lifelong animal lover with years of experience in pet care. Growing up in a family with multiple dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, and fish, I've become well versed in the caretaking of of critters. When I first asked for a puppy as a child, I wrote my parents a 2 page letter of why a 2nd dog would benefit the home (they were already dog lovers, but never had more than 1). While my parents were impressed by my convincing letter, they wanted me to prove that I was ready for the responsibility of my own pet- saying animals are more than just cute cuddle bugs, after all. So, I consistently completed chores to show them I had what it took to love & care for a dog- I consistently picked up dog poop, brushed our current canine, even built a fence around a portion of our yard with my dad to give a new dog space to run around in. I read books, watched training videos, and attended puppy obedience class with our old dog, Mack. Eventually, I did get my own dog and trained her to sit, stay, come, leave it, wait, roll over, shake, and to open her own door. Over the years, we only gained more animals- soon I had a schedule for chicken egg collecting & coop cleanup, litter cleaning, grooming, and feeding. In addition to my upbringing, I've also done pet sitting & walking jobs in the past- I have cared for blind animals, animals with severe needs, animals needing timely medication, as well as multiples. Now, I live in an apartment so I can only have cats (my roommates & I have 3 altogether!). While I love my kitty Murphy, I would love to get my dog fix in through Rover and in trade help a family out who needs some assistance with their pets!
