Hi All, My wife and I don't go away too often and leave our fur baby rescue. And we definitely will not board her at a kennel. But for my Mother-in-laws 90th Birthday, we had to go to Baltimore for a long weekend. So a friend at work told me about Dog Vacay that gets your pet into homes of local dog lovers. Well we really lucked out when we found Elka in a nearby town. We went there for a meet & greet and we knew that was the perfect place for Sandy our 80 pound Lab mix. Elka has two very beautiful and very calm natured Collies. Sandy who does not always get along with some dogs, remained very calm during the visit and had no problem with her two babies. Elka is also very knowledgeable about dogs and has a very nice fenced in backyard. This pass weekend was Sandy's Vacay weekend. Elka kept us up to date on how Sandy was doing with texts and pictures. It was so nice to see Sandy with her happy face on. You can just tell she was getting love and attention in our absence. When we picked her up on Sunday, she was of course happy to see us and jumped all over us, but seemed to be in no hurry to leave. Elka had all her things packed up nicely and off we went back home. We now will have no problem leaving knowing that Sandy will be well taken care of by Elka and her daughter. And Sandy made two new friends. Thank you again Elka!!! Steve and Marion L.

Elka is AMAZING. My 11-month old puppy has elbow and hip problems and was scheduled for surgery the week following his stay with Elka, so he needed to take some pain medication and also take it easy during his stay. Elka took extra special care of him and made sure he didn't run around too much. She sent me regular updates about how he was doing and sent pictures too. I felt completely comfortable leaving him with Elka. Also, her dogs are so sweet and I could tell my puppy really enjoyed being a part of their family for a few days. Once he is recovered from surgery, my puppy will be visiting again - thank you Elka!
