Pet care experience
MY PET PASSION: I grew up with a variety of animals; four dogs at different times, 4-H rabbit Tabby, shetland ponies Polly & Ginger, our lamb Lamb Chop, Chuckie our groundhog, as well as frogs, crawdads, you name it. Yep, I was a tomboy. I simply love and adore animals. Years later I adopted a guinea pig (Squeak) and later a lop-eared bunny, Top Hat, that I house-broke in about 1/2 hour. In the morning's he'd get up on the bed and jump across me until I woke up...at 6:00a.m.! Was my favorite. Then he'd have breakfast and go to sleep being their nocturnal creatures. If I made too much noise, he'd come out and thump his foot letting me know I woke him up. I even took him to work once and he followed me wherever I went. After I learned rabbit behavior and body language I enjoyed him so much more. He was a treasure. ADDITIONAL PET CARE: Since 2008 I have cared for many cats, some young, some old but all requiring sleepovers for different medical reasons (with the exception of injections) as well as puppies and senior dogs. I get such a joy out of watching animals display human-like behavior, playing with them, tending to their very specific personalities and needs. Best way to start and end a day. I currently don't have any pets of my own so pet sitting is my fix. KENNELS: Pets become very stressed when their parents travel and kennels pose the risk of them contracting stomach viruses, worms, ear mites, fleas, lice, ticks, you name it. I learned this the hard way and although he survived, it was a costly experience. Allowing pets to stay in an environment where they are most familiar and healthier is comforting to them as it lessens their stress level, particularly for the newly weened, senior pets and those needing medication. For this reason, sleepovers are in the pet parents' home for the pets well being. Holiday rates for overnighters are higher than the normal overnight rate shown.

ElJaye has been taking care of my cats and dog for several years now. She's always been very responsible - and they love her. She sends me photos of her spending quality time with them. She's not one of those "get out as fast as you can" sitters - she really cares about my pets. She even gives my 15 year old cat oral meds. I trust her.

Lick, Love, Lap provides reliable and quality pet care of small, four-legged companions with focus on pampering, walking, playtime, care and sitting in the pet parents' home. When it's outdoor time, pets get to enjoy their time to do what it is they like to do, after all it's 'their' time, short of humping my leg maybe. Canines, felines, rabbits or guinea pigs, whether they be face lickers, lap nappers, dominant or shy, your precious pets are kept healthy, happy, stress-free and safe in my care when you absolutely can't be there.
A typical day
VISITS: For daily pet visits, potty breaks range between 4 - 8 hours at 2 visits per day. For traveling parents' pets or when the location is greater than normal travel radius, only overnighters are available which affords potty breaks ranging between 2 - 4 hours or as often as pet requires, thus providing pets with extended human interaction and a secure presence in the pet parents' home. Home stays also include a host of other services such as bathing your pet, taking in the mail, watering plants, etc. (as a special request). SIZE / TYPE: I care for miniature dogs up to a max. weight of a cocker spaniel which is a size that can safely and comfortably transported to a park or the vets since my vehicle is a two-seater. Larger dogs I care for but will not fit in my small car therefore I can not transport them to a park of any distance. I've no allergies nor am I afraid of animals whether it be cats, rabbits or guinea pigs and even rats. If an animal is extremely temperamental, I would have to meet them to see if we like each other before I commit. I'm currently available to spend several hours sitting with your per during they day for overnight stays or short visits with a minimum of 1 hour per visit at 2 visits per day which includes a long walk, jog or to the nearest park. Off-leash at a dog park is per pet parents' permission only. Pet Parents receive daily updates and photos via email, cell or Skype so you can have peace of mind knowing that your 4-legged pet is well cared for, healthy and happy.
