Patient, Gentle, Loving, and Kind

Pet care experience

Hi and welcome to my profile! I’m just now returning to rover after about a year off and I’m excited to get back to dog walking! If you don’t want to read the full essay I ended up writing down below just know I love animals, have about 15 years of experience with dogs, my schedule is extremely flexible, and I’m taking the pandemic and social distancing very seriously! Before I talk about dogs I want to make it clear that currently I work in a hospital as a nurse tech! Right now though with the pandemic my hours have been shortened and I have some extra time on my hands. I have been tested for covid multiple times always negative, including an antibodies test (which is a test that shows I’ve never had it). Regardless of that I will wear a mask during meets and walks and also if you'd like gloves as well and anything else you might request! Please feel free to message me any questions you might have about health/safety, I wouldn’t be willing to do this if I felt I’d be putting you or myself at risk in someway. Also please understand that I also request you to wear a mask during meet and greets, I’m not just looking out for my own safety but my patients at work as well so this is a non negotiable requirement of mine! Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, I grew up with dogs and and am an all around lover of animals, before I set my heart on being a nurse I was considering going to vet school! I had a black lab named Sparky that I grew up with, who my brother and I had to essentially beg my parents to get, and so ended up being pretty much entirely our responsibility. And while I’m still convinced he was the best dog in the world it was definitely a bit of a Marley and me situation and I got a lot of experience in learning the ins and outs of dog training. After this I took myself to be a sort of dog whisperer (Cesar Millan who?) and often pet sat for friends, neighbors, and family. I heard of and joined rover while I was going to undergrad at loyola in Chicago and it was a great way for me to learn my way around to city while making some extra cash as a side job! I continued using the app on and off after moving back to Michigan to do nursing school. I’m an extremely hard worker (I’m used to working full time while also in nursing school) and have no problem with any accommodations or requests you might need! The few shifts a week I’m working are nights (so 7pm-7am) and all of my classes are online right now so when I say my schedule is entirely flexible I mean it! Even when I was working full time I’d still pick up walks here and there from old clients as I don’t have a dog of my own (yet) and miss having one in my life. I’m open to boarding dogs potentially, though my household has a total of 3 cats between my roommates and I so I’d need to know the dog was absolutely cool around cats before I could make that commitment. My apartment has decent space though and a private backyard so as long as the cats aren’t a problem I’d be down to make it work! I feel like I’m rambling at this point but feel free to send me a message if you have any questions! Best time to message me is afternoon/evening as again I do work nights! I hope to hear from you soon :)

Previously, I reviewed Elizabeth's performance positively. However, after she watched my animals a second time, I had worries about her performance and care. This was because of several signs of neglect for my animals (dog waste inside when I returned home) and due to the fact that even though I was paying her to house sit she was only occasionally dropping by. I installed cameras and hired her again for a cat sitting (drop-in). Unfortunately, she failed to come to the house at all the first day and lied about it to me when I asked her if she had visited. She then showed up the next day and could not find the lockbox and instead of coming clean that she did not know where the lock box was she said there was no key inside, which was also untrue because I had to scramble to have a friend go over the night before and care for the cats since Elizabeth had not showed up. She is not trustworthy and would not be a good fit for your animals.

Elizabeth was a wonderful and thoughtful sitter for the animals. She sent pictures and updates regularly and accommodated even seemingly insignificant requests. I highly recommend Elizabeth to take care of any furry companions!

Elizabeth was fantastic in every respect. She was prompt in communication, very accommodating of my last minute request for care, handled everything efficiency and let me know that my homebound dog was happy and safe. I highly recommend her!

Information Elizabeth T. would like to know about your pet

My only personal concern is if your dog ever gets aggressive; while I can handle larger dogs and playtime roughhousing, I'd need to know if your dog might potentially act aggressively towards me or others on walks, and how to best handle that situation if it arises. Other than that what I'd like to know are the typical questions regarding your dog's health, mentality, eating habits, house rules, favorite activities/walking routes, and any other quirks or habits you'd think I should know about. Every dog/animal is different, so I do trust that you as an owner will fill in any information I would specifically need to know about your pet that I might miss asking about.

A typical day

I love taking dogs on long walks/runs, especially by the lake when the weather allows for it!
