Owned & worked w/ dogs all my life!

Pet care experience

I grew up surrounded by cats and dogs of all breeds and temperaments, and have worked as a dog walker and pet sitter for years. I was a baby when my parents rescued our first dog, and have loved dogs for as long as I can remember. I've worked with multiple dog walking/sitting companies and boarding facilities, which has provided me with invaluable experience, not to mention it's taught me that every dog is unique - every pet has its own needs and wants, and every pet interacts with humans and other animals differently. This experience has helped me learn some of the best ways I can tailor my interactions with different dogs and cats so that anyone I'm with feels comfortable and safe. At the first meeting, I like to spend some time to get to know both the dog(s) and owner(s), and I always ask if a dog needs any special requirements, in addition to questions about the dog's temperament and how it interacts with other animals. Experience has shown me that it's best for owners and pets to get to know the people who will be working with them, in order to create a comfortable and safe relationship for the dog(s), the owner(s), and myself. For walks, I do 30 to roughly 40 minutes including changing their water and giving a treat at the end. For drop-ins, I spend 30 minutes to keep the dog (or cat!) company with any outdoor activities (if the space permits) such as fetch or tug-of-war, along with changing their water and feeding them. I prefer to have poop bags provided, but I can also bring my own. For pet sitting, I like to have information such as a schedule with the walking and feeding times, as well as any other household rules and details, and emergency contact info. At the moment I am only available for pet sitting during weekends, though if it's an emergency during the week feel free to message me and I can see if my schedule would allow for it. I've walked dogs in all kinds of weather and environments, if some pets like to get down and dirty when they go outside, no problem! I'm always happy to spend any extra time needed to get your pet nice and clean before leaving. If needed, I will ask for any towels or supplies to use that the owners are okay with sparing. (TEMPORARY UPDATE!!) For the time being, I will not be accepting large breeds over 100lbs until April 30th, then afterwards will be taking Maternity leave until further notice! If you need any recommendations, I also work alot with my husband who has helped me with many clients! Please feel free to reach out for any details, I would be more than happy to work with anyone needing a sitter!

Elizabeth was great - she took good care of our house and dogs. Sent lots of pictures, and communicated well throughout the stay and the booking process. We will look for chances to book again in the future.

Elizabeth was awesome with my senior pups. One needed eye meds and the other oral meds and she was a champ at taking care of their unique needs. I received pictures and regular updates. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Elizabeth did an exceptional job house sitting for us. She was attentive to our pets, and when our dog was struggling she was very communicative and kind to him, staying with him and going above and beyond to care for him. She is very professional. Highly recommend.

Safety, trust & environment

When I come in, I first like to greet the pet to make sure they are immediately familiar with me while the owner is there to begin building trust. I am happy to do post visitations before the scheduled walking/sitting! Then I ask the owner to give a brief tour of the enviroment; anything to avoid and keep the pets out of, where their belongings are (treats, toys, food etc) and what spaces they like to be in. I also ask where cleaning supplies are kept in case of any accidents or mess. Of course if theres anything that precise such as medication, or strict routines, i ask to have it written down along with any emergency contacts. Every environment and pet is different, so I like to be sure so everyone is safe. Unfortunately, I do not take in Pets into my own space.

Information Elizabeth P. would like to know about your pet

Something I need to know is the dogs relationship with other pets and people to avoid any complications. Also any allergies, habits, disabilities, medication needed in their food etc.

A typical day

I prefer long walks to get all the energy out and get some exercise, usually 2-3 perday (morn/noon/evening). As for where I go it depends on the dog and the area. Some places I go to have nice dog parks, otherwise I walk through the neighborhood.
