Rockford's Academy Dog Sitting

Pet care experience

I am 30 and have worked professionally with dogs for 10 years. I began working in a boarding and daycare facility when I was 18. Since that time I have worked for other kennels as I have moved. I received my training certification in 2010 from Animal Behavior College and volunteered extensively at a shelter in Kansas City. Since that time I have volunteered with numerous rescue groups providing training and foster homes along with many boarding facilities. I currently own Rockford's Academy, a dog training company. I love pet sitting and getting the opportunity to make a dog happy while their parents are away- all the rewards of being the fun aunt :) Experience with pets who have medications/diabetes/special needs. Experience and comfortable with pets who have difficult behavior. PETS AT MY HOME: I have one room mate, a nurse, who loves dogs as much as me. Between the two of us the pets are only solo for a few hours in the day. We have a dog door (however, I close it when we are not home for safety), a fenced front yard, and a nice dog walking neighborhood. We have an extra bedroom for dogs who need a bit more privacy. Our dogs get along well with others and enjoy the company. HOUSE SITTING: I work from home, with appointments throughout the day so your pets won't be left alone for long. I am flexible fitting into your pets routines, watering plants, and any other up-keeps that need done while your away. I specialize in very interesting situations so I challenge you to surprise me :) DOG WALKING: Your dog will not tire me out ;)

Lizzy was great with our elderly dog. She has multiple daily meds and a special diet, and actually got a little bit sick while we were gone. Lizzy was kind and patient with her. We got daily updates and pictures and felt totally comfortable while we were away. Zeba was happy and relaxed when we got back and had obviously been well cared for. We'll definitely use Lizzy again!

Elizabeth was great! The pups seem happy and the place was spotless! She even undressed the bed and washed the dishes! We really loved the pics and videos she sent! Thanks Elizabeth!

Our two pups seemed happy and relaxed upon returning home. I received a few updates and photos during their stay. Elizabeth was easy to work with, flexible with pickup and drop off, and I would definitely have our dogs stay with her again.

Information Elizabeth M. would like to know about your pet

I like to know how they get along with other dogs and especially if they are food/resources aggressive. Also very important if they like to jump fences or are good at escaping. These are not factors in exclude however, I can accommodate most behaviors. I just care a lot about the safety of your pet and mine.

A typical day

We have a morning walk ritual at this house. We live near a park, A-Mountain trails, and coffee shops (for those pets who identify as social butterflies). We have many toys and play tug throughout the day. Afternoon bones or snack filled treats are not unheard of. In the warmer days we have a kiddy pool that the hounds like to dip their toes in.
