Dedicated loving pet sitter

Pet care experience

Hello, I am an animal lover with over 20 years pet sitting and dog walking/ house sitting experience. I am a former vet tech and have taken care of all kinds of pets, small and large, both cats and dogs. I can administer meds, treat ear and eye conditions, monitor geriatric and diabetic pets, as well as groom and do nail trims. I have excellent veterinary and client references. I love spending time with pets, exercising them and providing the best, safest, and loving care they need! I feel I am capable, experienced, and very professional. I am dedicated to pleasing both pet and owner and provide very attentive care. I am kind hearted, friendly, and bond with cats and dogs both equally well. I'm looking to forward to meeting your pet!

Elizabeth was such a pleasure. She was so friendly and gave us updates with our new puppy when we left home for the first time. Definitely will be using her in the near future.

Liz is a excellent communicator…friendly, open, sincere, organized, and genuinely interested in her canine client(s)! Our older, rountine-loving Mastiff loves her already. Although we have just started our working relationship with her, we will definitely be calling on her again to housesit. Thank you, Liz! We feel fortunate to have met you!

Our boys are lucky to have Liz stay with them and so are we. We know when we are away we don’t have to worry. Thanks Liz

Liz was wonderful while boarding my dog Evie. She sent lots of pictures and had great communication. She took Evie for many walks and loved her like she was her own. Liz was very thorough in her care and made sure she knew the dos and don’ts while watching her. Would highly recommend!

I follow the schedule the client gives me for their pet/s. I stick to the feeding schedule, play and potty breaks. I send daily updates with tons of photos. I alert them to any questions or anything they need to know. If the dog can go out in the car for hikes or to the dog park, I take them as much as possible. I send updates and photos quite a bit. The same thing goes for staying at a client’s home. I respect the home and the pet’s schedule and stick to it. I also send daily updates and take the pets out on schedule and send photos of hikes, park visits, outings, or dog park visits. If I have any questions about the home or pet I simply text and ask. I make sure to communicate about when the client is coming back and make sure my schedule is flexible towards the end of the visit to account for any delays the client may have in returning home.

Information Elizabeth G. would like to know about your pet

I’d love to have a meet and greet first. I’d like to know their personality; any triggers if there was a past trauma, any fears of thunder, loud noises, etc. I’d like to know how they get along with other dogs or cats, if they can go in a car, or do they pull heavily on a leash for walks? Do they need additional training in any area? I want to know the veterinarian information ( if applicable), and any medical and/or medications I need to administer. I’d like to know if dog has any special rituals or habits I should be aware of. I should also know if they have any special diet needs, and a good food schedule to stick to.

A typical day

It’s important to get dogs out for proper daily exercise. I always ask the client what the dog’s daily routine is like. I also know several great hiking trails on the Midcoast that are safe, fun, and great exercise. I always ask if it’s ok to take the dog in my vehicle or if the dog is safe around other types of people and/ or dogs. I also ask the owner what types of favorite toys the dogs have to play with. The same for any puzzles and games. Maybe the dog likes to engage in some training or behavioral techniques? Sometimes grooming is an activity in and of itself and the dog may like to be brushed thoroughly. In the summer, some dogs love to swim and I’ll ask about that as well. I also always ask what sweaters, coats, harnesses, and gear to take with me on outings, especially in the winter up here. Safety is number one but I will always try to keep the dog engaged, active and loved on. Asking the owner what they usually like to do with their dog is also a great way to gain good ideas!
