I walk the walk, and bark the bark.

Pet care experience

I’m all about embracing my true passions instead of moving about the world on autopilot. It’s funny how this milestone makes most people reevaluate their lives. We all have different things that bring us joy and a sense of purpose, but working a corporate job just wasn’t doing it for me. I didn’t want to spend another minute working in a cubicle and staring at a computer screen. I’ve decided to return to school full time for my Masters in Special Education and Speech Pathology. I want to work in the service of others, for those who may need extra help and engage one-on-one to help people reach their highest potential. My other passion is caring for animals, and being in school affords me a lot of flexibility with my schedule. Also being an older graduate student, I’m responsible and respectful––you won’t have to worry about me having a rager in your home or mishandling any of your personal items. I’m homebound a lot because of my studies and I really relish a calm and quiet environment with a cute pup snoozing nearby. Your home and your beloved pet will be treated as extensions of me, and I will leave your home clean and tidy. I’ve been housesitting for dogs, cats, and other pet friends for the past 12 years, mainly in Great Falls and Arlington. I even have eight clients within a two-block radius and I absolutely cherish all the relationships I’ve formed through our mutual love of animals. I have experience with many breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments. I had many dogs and cats growing up, but my living situation prohibits me from having pets so caring for your pup (or cat or fish) allows me to get my puppy fix. I have a lot of experience with puppies as well as senior dogs with various ailments, so crate training or administering medication is no problem. I will adapt my level of service (activity) depending on your pup’s individual needs. Even though a lot of my time is devoted to my studies, I love taking long walks around neighborhoods and lakes. I particularly enjoy taking dogs to Great Falls Park for mild hikes. Fetch is always fun but activities will be customized for your dog’s abilities. I would never take a Pug or Bulldog on a hike if they’re not used to such things. I love the companionship animals give me especially while I study or outdoors. They are a calming influence, and their love is unconditional. I love snuggling up with them and watching movies and getting outside and playing with them. Nothing beats coming home to a dog or cat greeting you at the door excited to see you. I hope you’ll let me experience even an ounce of that.

Dogs were in great shape and happy upon our return. She sent lots of pics and updates throughout the week. Elizabeth even washed the sheets, etc she used before our rtn. We would love to have her stay with the dogs again.

Elizabeth did an excellent job watching our little dog and and housesitting for five days. She updated us regularly, cared for our dog well, and we came home to a happy dog and clean house. We recommend her highly.

Elizabeth is now our favorite sitter. She took wonderful care of our three old ladies. Our pups each have their own special needs and Elizabeth asked the appropriate questions and handled the girls marvelously. We received daily updates and adorable photos. I never once worried about the care the girls were receiving. We definitely plan on asking her to sit again.

Elizabeth stayed in our house for 10 days to watch our pup while we went on vacation. She took great care of our dog, sent regular updates and pictures, and was very attentive to our instructions for care. She was always available if I reached out, and was very respectful of our house. Thanks Elizabeth!

I think animals prefer to stay in their own homes, with their own surroundings that they are comfortable with while their owners are away, I make sure to learn about each pets individual needs so I can tailor their experience to what they are most comfortable with. I’m very flexible personally with my work being remote so I can follow their schedules as close as I possibly can.

Information Elizabeth C. would like to know about your pet

I like to know as much as possible about each Animal I meet. I prefer meet and greets in your home where they’re comfortable and find out their daily walking route if they have one. I always want to know about any dog’s reaction to other animals (particularly cats and other dogs), humans, or children. Do they like long walks or short walks. Do they like going on hikes, or for drives? What are their favorite treats, do they have allergies, and what rules they may have in the house such as no getting on furniture, or no bones unless they’re outside, or no treats unless it’s a reward. Every dog is different so I like to know as much as possible. Photography is another big passion of mine so I’ll happily send lots of photos and other updates throughout the day. Open, clear communication is a must, so please feel free to contact me anytime!

A typical day

I love exploring local trails that are dog friendly, I’m relatively new to the Eastern Shore so it’s exciting to learn about dog friendly parks and trails (I always go to parks or trails prior to taking any dog there to get a good idea of what they are like). I try to follow each animal’s schedules as closely to their regular routine. All dogs are different so their needs will be very different, but I will honor each dog’s preferences. Your pup’s safety, health, and happiness are my utmost priority––always.
