Home full-time, live near dog park!

Pet care experience

Dogs bring me so much joy! Whether they are energetic, lap dogs or fall somewhere in between I like make sure I can meet their comfort level. As a pet sitter, I have the privilege of combining my passion with my work. I'm very excited to get to interact with all the different types of personalities and breeds of dogs through RoverGo and I hope to learn from parents and their four-legged friends to build unique, lasting relationships. This also allows me to provide high quality service with a level of enjoyment that fills me up! I see pet sitting not only as a job, but as a lifestyle. I have my own pup, Nala, for the past 6 years. I did extensive research on training her along with understanding her breed. I was able to teach her various tricks: sit, down, stay, heel, play dead, shake (high for the right and hello for left), stand and roll over. When my mom told me she was tired of bending down to pick her up, I taught Nala how to jump into my arms without doing much bending over -- she has some serious hops! I also taught her to use an indoor bathroom (the "pet loo") for when I'm not home. I also took care of Foxy, an elderly disabled dog, during her last two years. I managed her medication and constantly looked for ways to manage her disabilities: using a cone at times to help with her blindness and maintain a tighter schedule due to her weak bladder. I have loads of experience dog sitting for friends and family on a daily or as-needed basis. A typical day would involve a morning potty break and walk and some play time. I like to hit one of the local parks in my West Seattle neighborhood. Westcrest Park has an off-leash area and is within walking distance, but there’s also Alki Beach and Lincoln Park -- two other great locations for exploring! After that, maybe an afternoon siesta is needed? No problem! Once we’re well rested, we could head to the dog park or have some more play time and belly rubs. Before we go down for the night, there would be plenty of belly rubs so that we’re well-rested for the next day’s adventures. I also like to provide a calm and relaxed atmosphere for your pup. I want to make sure your pet’s fun and comfort is a priority for me and I'm not afraid to get out there and be active (let's get dirty -- we can shower later!) or if they just want to chill, that’s fine too. I also enjoy training dogs and if there is something you want me to work on with your dog, you can bet we will make strides. With patience and positive reinforcement I will work with your pet so they feel accomplished no matter how big or small the task. And while my experience focuses on dogs, I am comfortable with looking after other pets you may have including, but not limited to cats, birds, and turtles.

Liz and Reggie took absolutely wonderful care of our dog Chloe while we were home for the holidays. I got lots and lots of cute pictures, videos, and updates. If you're planning on leaving your dog for a longer stretch of time I'd recommend doing a "trial run" and having your pup stay with them for one night so they get acquainted. Our girl is pretty shy, but Liz really took the time to bond with her on the trial run so the actual stay was a breeze. Happy dog and happy mom.

Raya had a lot of fun with Elizabeth! She's an anxious doggie so I get nervous about leaving her with someone new, but Elizabeth was fantastic. She asked me lots of questions to make sure she knew everything about Raya, and took her to the dog park every day and sent me pictures. When we picked Raya up, she was calm, happy, and tired! I would definitely have Elizabeth watch her again.

Information Elizabeth C. would like to know about your pet

I like to meet dogs in an environment where they are comfortable to ensure your pet and I will become fast friends. I would like to do a meet and greet first in a public location and go over basic information including, but not limited to behavior and training, health needs, emergency contacts, daily routine. I generally avoid "aggressive" breeds, but exceptions can be made for the right pup and owner. I also want to go over their routine and talk about any expectations along with anything I should be aware of like triggers or medical issues. Also, I'd ask for a list of commands or phrases so I can continue to communicate with the pet in a way they are used to. I would like to adhere to any specific agenda for your pet as best as I can. You will also be updated on your pet’s stay with messages and photos.

A typical day

A typical day would involve wake and potty time along with a walk. We could run free in the off-leash area of Westcrest Park or take a stroll around Alki Beach or Lincoln Park, all of which are close to where I live. If we need some midday quiet time, we can take a quick nap or continue our play time or belly rubs. Before the end of the day, we would take another quick walk or toss around a few toys before we doze off dreaming how we’re going to take over the world!
