VetER nurse with a passion for pets

Pet care experience

I have had animals my entire life and they are my passion. I am also very passionate about training and have spent countless hours learning the latest techniques and tricks. I have worked in the animal field for the last 4 years. The past 2 as a triage nurse at a large specialty and emergency hospital. I am the one many of the doctors I work with go to for their pet sitting needs. Working in emergency has prepared me to take on all kinds of unique challenges. I love being able to use my experience to assure owners that their fur babies are in good hands.

Lizzie was awesome at caring for our elderly yorkie and we were so happy coming home to a calm and well cared for pet kiddo! We enjoyed the level of communication provided with texts and pictures almost daily. We will definitely be asking to her to pet sit in the future. Thanks Lizzie!

At work, I do my best to make every visit as positive as possible. Meeting the pets where they're comfortable and going at their pace. As an ER tech I'm trained to recognize signs of distress and illness and determine the severity of such to determine level of care needed. As well as having extensive experience handling special needs pets.

Information Elizabeth B. would like to know about your pet

I have never shyed away from a pet for medical or behavioral reasons. I love being able to gain the trust of reactive dogs or spicy kitties. And I love giving special needs friends extra tlc. I do ask that all dogs be up to date on vaccines if being boarded in my home and will ask for proof at meet greet. If there is a medical reason for not being up to date please let me know.

A typical day

I love running and usually run 1-2 times a day. When that's not possible I love puzzles to tire out the friends I'm watching. Watching their brain working as they try and figure out how to get the reward, and the happiness when they finally figure it out is truly magical to me.

I do work wed-sat but most of the time I bring the dogs I'm sitting with me to work. We have a reception team that acts as a doggy daycare and they are always loving on everyone. Some dogs dont like going and prefer being homebodies, which is also wonderful! In that case my retired grandmother lives with me and can provide potty breaks and stimulation while I'm at work.
