Pet care experience
I've lived with dogs since I was 3 years old and have cared for them from my early years to present day. I have experience volunteering for an animal shelter, bathing and grooming dogs for a Samoyed breeder, dog walking, working with Alaskan huskies as sled dogs, pet sitting, and gentle reinforcement of basic training. I have now been with Rover for about a year as well and have worked hard to build a good reputation as a pet sitter with this platform.
Reviews
Elizabeth B. cancelled a booking within a day of the start date.
Our pup’s second visit with Elizabeth & Thor was wonderful yet again. We have such peace of mind while he’s there, knowing he is loved and in great care. We are so grateful!
Elizabeth is a good dog "mom" and all of the photos I got of my dog during his stay showed her care. She was able to pick up and drop off my dog which was a big help.
Mabel and Rosie had a good stay with Elizabeth and Thor. Elizabeth sent frequent updates and photos which allowed us to rest easy for our weekend wedding. The dogs had nice long walks, lots of cuddles and were very tired when they got home. I’m confident they were safe and loved with Elizabeth and Thor.

Communication

Safety, trust & environment
For first-time clients, I highly recommend we do a Meet & Greet with your pet in their familiar environment prior to booking, walking through where their supplies are and what their routine is. During this time, we also discuss your pet's temperament, quirks, any health issues, likes/dislikes, how they get along with other animals/people, and if they have any anxieties for me to be mindful of. With your permission, I would like to bring healthy treats to the Meet & Greet so that your lovely pet and I can start off on the right paw. Once the booking is made, I ask that you leave me written instructions in a visible place, such as the coffee table or dining room table, prior to my drop-ins or sitting with your pet. I will care for your pet according to your instructions, taking additional precautions for their safety and wellbeing as the situation calls for. I will also factor in any details we discuss during our Meet & Greet into how I provide care for your pet and encourage you to ask me questions or make any additional requests before, during, and after the booking so that I can provide you with my best service. You can expect me to be a consistent communicator, to send you at least one photo of your pet per day (usually more), to write a written description of your pet's drop-in or sitting for that day, and to leave your space clean and tidy. For the protection of your own property, I also am mindful to bring in any mail and packages left at your door. Last, and most importantly, I ask that you leave me the contact of your pet's urgent care veterinarian so that I may take care of any potential emergency swiftly. It is my priority that your pet is always safe and that you are given peace of mind.

Information Elizabeth B. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your pet has any special needs or requires specific accommodations so that I can prepare to provide for them ahead of time. I am comfortable administering oral medication if needed. If an injection is required, I'd like to receive instruction with a demo so that I can accommodate your pet in the way that's most comfortable for them. I have also done hand feeding for temporarily disabled dogs post-surgery and can of course take a slower walk for the fluffy senior citizen that needs it.
A typical day
Dogs: When it comes to dog walking, my favorite go-to places are the local hiking trails. I often like to choose a different trail every time we go on a new walk so that your dog can enjoy new smells. Sometimes, we may also walk different routes throughout the neighborhood. Depending on your dog's age and ability, we also may walk and then switch to jogging in intervals. For mental stimulation, I also enjoy teaching new tricks. and engaging them with their favorite toys/games. Did you know that scientists have discovered that dogs understand vocabulary at a similar level to toddlers? That's a lot of words! That's why, when we are in the house, I like to talk to them and engage them in what I'm doing (e.g. letting them sniff the recycling as I consolidate it, letting them know I'm walking to the other room and inviting them to walk around the house with me, etc.) Cats: Exercise is important, as is love and attention, so I will ensure your cat enjoys lots of cuddles and play time. I like to either rotate their toys (e.g. string one day, throw mice the next) or stick to a tried and true favorite if that's their preference. I usually do this before they enjoy their meal and/or treats because playtime simulates a hunt for cats. The treat/meal is therefore, in their world, the reward for "catching their prey".

I am currently working to make this my full-time occupation. For dog walking and drop ins, I am currently able to practically travel out no more than 15 miles from my home. If you live farther out, and would like to use my services, I ask that we factor in fuel costs. If you are open to it, I'd love to bring my dog, Bailey, along for dog walking. He's a sweetheart and a gentle giant who loves other animals and even herds chickens when given the opportunity. He loves keeping everyone together. If your pet doesn't get along with other animals, just let me know and then I will keep Bailey at home with my husband. For daycare and boarding, I will accept up to a maximum of 2 pets. They must be ok with other animals, as Bailey lives inside the home with us. We are currently building a fence around our yard, and it should be ready by August. If your pet needs a fenced yard, please book daycare or boarding after August. Alternatively, until the fence is built, I can keep them inside and provide additional walks and leashed outdoor time throughout the day.
