Pet care experience
I grew up having dogs and value building relationships with both owners and their fur babies. From my first best friend, Simba, a pit-bull mixed Rottweiler. To my second bestie, Honey, who was a Rottweiler mixed German Shepherd. I have always had a soft spot for dogs because I have cared for them since I was in elementary school! All to say, I will care for your fur baby as if it were my own! I love running and going for walks, so I'm sure your dog will love that about me if they are active or like to play a lot at home! Fur parents are usually most comfortable when their sitter feels like a friend and that is what I will strive to provide for your family. I will send as many pictures and videos as you would like! I really value communication so both you and your pet feel comfortable and cared for while I am there.

Elissa has done a great job walking my reactive girl, Bella. She’s been very patient and asks questions to get a full grasp of what Bella’s triggers are. So reassuring to know she’s in good hands.
Elissa was great. She is an excellent communicator, followed all my instructions, and is clearly comfortable around dogs. She was calm and able to handle my crazy dog beautifully.
Elissa is always punctual and immediately responsive. She is very responsible and incredibly sweet and patient with our dogs! We are grateful for her help!
Elissa was amazing with our senior dog Ted. She was very communicative and sent us all the pictures we could have wanted. My wife and I really felt like she cared for him as much as we do, it made us feel much more comfortable having her house sit for him knowing he was in great hands. She also washed all of our bedding (without us asking her to do so) and took great care of our house in general. You can really tell when someone is a "dog person" and without a doubt, Elissa falls into that category. I would definitely recommend her to anyone asking and my wife and I will certainly re-book with Elissa when we need another dog sitter.

My care is based on strong communication and building comfort for both your pet and you as an owner while you are away. My care will be tailored to the wants and needs you share with me. For example, some owners prefer their dogs stay away from interacting with other humans or animals while on walks due to reactiveness. Other dogs are fine! Some owners prefer multiple walks and feedings a day while other dogs may only need one. This is why I value communication. I want be sure to provide the service you are looking for and not break the routine your pet may already have in place. I recognize the importance of routine for them. Also, if there are certain commands they are used to I will be sure to use them! I value cleanliness and keeping a home the way it is expected to be kept because I believe in treating others’ pets (best friends) and homes the way I would want mine to be taken care of. I would treat your home like it were my own and that is why it will be well maintained while you are away. All to say, your home and pet will be in good hands!

I’d like to know their feeding schedule and usual potty breaks so their routine doesn’t change and it helps their comfort with me while you’re away. It's helpful to know if they have separation anxiety and how they react, along with best practices, when they do have it. If treats are involved, I'd love to know when they are usually given. It is helpful to know if a dog is trained and the specific commands they respond to so we can keep their training in tact! Also, it’s helpful to know how they interact with other people and their pets so I can stay extra alert if needed on our outings! Last - I’d also love to know what their favorite toy is or game to play is! (:
A typical day
I love walking/running around local neighborhoods. I am exploring just as much as your pet will be such as to dog beaches or fiesta island. If you live near an ocean I will definitely take your fur baby near the ocean if you'd like! If they prefer a dog park I’d be happy to take them! We can play with toys, tennis balls, or stuffed animal of their choosing. Fetch is an all time favorite for me. Your fur baby will definitely get the attention they need!

Availability
I work from home from 7:30am-4:00pm with a flexible schedule. Meaning, I can drop in or walk your dog during almost any two hour timeframe depending on how far your home is located from mine. I’d be happy to help get their energy out while you’re away or even present, so you can simply take a break! Life moves fast. I get it!
