Hello, my name is Elissa and I was a previous pet parent for 5 years but I currently have no pets. I currently work full time at a veterinary clinic, if you decide to leave your pet in my care they would come along to work with me where I can watch them, feed them and give them frequent potty breaks. I do have experience with all breeds, ages and sizes but due to my 8 month old baby I would preferably work with friendly small-medium sized dogs. Pet and baby will never be left alone, always supervised to avoid any incidents. I am an experienced Veterinary Technician, as my love for animals is immense. While working as a VetTech I learned some valuable skills as I am able to administer oral medication and use techniques that make it easier for your pet, topical meds, and injecting meds quickly and effectively to make it is easier for your furry friend. Medical experience: As an experienced VetTech I am able to watch for any signs or symptoms that I can notify you of that might need a Veterinarians attention. In case of an emergency I can perform cpr and I live close to Southeast Portland Animal Hospital which I know some of the staff and trust but of course I would be able to take your pet to the location you desire. Grooming service: While boarding I can clean your dog/cat ears with pet ear cleanser or trim their nails if they let me, just book under grooming and specify which you would like no charge if they did not feel comfortable, I will not perform as I do not want to stress your dog/cat out more than they probably will be staying at a temporary new home. Exotic Care: As if one animal job wasn't enough I was previously employed at a pet store. While at the pet store I gained minimal experience handling and feeding of some exotics such as bearded dragons, small snakes, chinchillas, hamsters and fish etc. **If you need care for your exotics along with your dog/cat during drop in visits you can book under additional dog for each exotic** Cat Care: I also have experience with cats. Cats for sure have my heart (crazy cat lady), I can care for outdoor, indoor or both. People may perceive them to be independent creatures but they also need some TLC. Where they will be staying: I live in a small apartment with a small patio and grass area small dog friendly. There is a park nearby where I like to take walks. Pet would either sleep on floor with bed provided or in crate if provided. Any bookings in advance are much appreciated so I can work my schedule around you and your furry friend, although I know life happens as for you and me.
