Home F/T ready to love on your pup!

Pet care experience

Hello! Thanks for stopping by! We are an active family consisting of my husband, myself and 3 kids who live with us, (16, 7 and 6 years old). We have been been dog sitting on Rover for 7 years now - I can't even believe it! We rescued our goofy Lab mix, Jagger, when he was 6 months old, he is now 7. He loves his job of making new friends and he's good at it, he hasn't met a guest he hasn't liked yet! He doesn't play much anymore, except when it comes to retrieving balls... for HOURS. He usually keeps to himself, but will get playful from time to time if your dog initiates it. We have fostered dogs in the past, it was incredibly rewarding to know that we helped save a dogs life and place him/her in a loving furever home and we learned A LOT! Our kids enjoy having dogs around, they get a kick out of watching all the dogs play with other each other and love to join in on the action, playing fetch and cuddling. Your dog/s will have many people around to love on them and give them constant affection and attention. They are all very accustomed to our extra furry life style, use caution going in and out of the house, are incredibly gentle and loving with the dogs and have learned so much about compassion, unconditional love and responsibility. Our 7 year old has an extra special ability to bond with dogs when they are here - we're certain she is going to care for dogs in some way or anything as an adult. We have two indoor cats who live upstairs, where only humans and cats are allowed! ;) Because of this, if your dog doesn't get a long with cats, it's no problem at all. We have a gate at the bottom of the stairs that provides separation. My husband and I both grew up with family dogs. We decided it was time for me to stay home with our kids about 8 years ago and shortly after we adopted our dog Jagger. We toyed with the idea of adopting another dog and that's When I discovered Rover...where not only Jagger could have a constant companion but because I didn't really know what it was like NOT to work, this was a perfect compromise where I could help contribute to the family while loving on doggies!! Dogs have always been a huge part of our lives, and I am so happy I get to stay at home with my kids and love on dogs while making music! We truly feel blessed! Our backyard has a large patio as well as 2 grassy areas, it is completely fenced in with a 6 foot privacy fence. We have many trees offering an abundance of shade. Your dog will love running around our backyard and will enjoy a front row show to squirrel watching! One is my favorite things to do is write songs on my twin bed sized swing and the dogs love to run around my swing fetching balls or wrestling and sometimes dogs hop on the swing with me for some snuggles. It always cracks me up when this happens. I have experience administering insulin and giving oral medications and will administer them meticulously according to your directions. Should your dog need a very specific time that their medication needs to be given each day, there may be an extra charge as I may have to rearrange my schedule to ensure their meds are taken correctly. We love to travel and understand how stressful traveling can be when you have 4-legged furry kiddo/s, we strive to make the process as stress free as possible, and you can rest assured, knowing we understand how important it is to leave your beloved dog in good hands while you are traveling - we promise to provide a safe environment for your dog, filled with love, care, music, fetch and fun! I am a singer songwriter, and most of what I do is from my home, giving your dog access to a nice sized 6 ft fenced backyard to run around and play through out the day. I am generally home 90% of the time (with the exception of getting my kids to and from school/sports and maybe a quick studio session or watching my son play baseball) so I am able to be here round the clock for play, potty breaks, snuggles and walks. I stay pretty busy with doggie meet and greets, drop offs and pick ups, so being on time for your drop off and pick up is very helpful for me to run things smoothly. If you're running early or late I ask that you shoot me a text so that I can be sure the other dogs we are watching are safely in my room so that we can avoid any chaos, discuss your dogs stay easier and ensure other dogs don't have an opportunity to escape. It's hard to wrangle dogs once there's an unexpected knock at the door. I offer drop off and pick up times from 7am - 8 pm. 8pm is generally our sacred family hour for bedtime stories with our children. If you need to drop off early (5am-7am) or later (8pm-10:30pm) , I am willing to accommodate and I charge $13 extra. We take the safety of your pup very seriously. We always feed separately in case of food aggression. We do not feed people food. Our children know the off limits/ dangerous foods and we inform them if a dog has a specific allergy. We have an extra gate around our front door and take extra precaution when coming and going.

Information Elise H. would like to know about your pet

It is very important that your dog gets along with other dogs and that they like children. If not, our home is not the right fit. It's good to know if your dog has any anxiety, food aggression or allergies, is an escape artist and any interesting quirks or behaviors. We are about to install new carpet so it's important that your dog is completely potty trained. We understand that accidents happen and that's the risk we take putting new carpet in a home where we watch dogs haha - so we will have grace for an occasional accident. but we aren't able to watch a dog that perpetually has accidents.

A typical day

Our neighborhood has a nice path near by and a beautiful park - we are happy to take your dog on a daily walk if requested. I do charge $5 extra per walk if this is something you require. We have found that dogs who live in apartments are very accustomed to only going potty while on walk, if this is the case, please inform me and we can work out a plan that works for me to take then on multiple short walks a day to ensure they don't go potty in our house. We are generally caring for 3-4 dogs on any given day/ night. We stay busy and only take pups that play nice with others, we often hear from our clients that their dog comes home and sleeps for days because of the amount of play time they get when they're here! If you don't feel comfortable with us caring for multiple dogs then our home isn't a good fit. However, I'm happy to work out something special to watch your dog only if dates are open. We can discuss pricing for this option.
