Small Seniors are my speciality:)

Pet care experience

*Note: Because I never leave dogs alone, 2 nights is generally my maximum. Starting February 2023, I will be available Thursday late afternoon (for drop off) to Sunday (possibly early (by 8:00 a.m.) Monday morning) for pick up. I have expertise in dealing with seniors (dogs and cats). I currently have one senior cat who has helped me welcome all varieties of rescues and fosters over the years, so for boarding, your dog must be cat-friendly. My little dog, Didi, passed in November, but she lived years beyond her prognosis. She had CHF and had frequent seizures (during which her bladder emptied). When this happened, I would soothe her, bathe her, and hold her until she felt better. I had to make her food and hand feed her near the end. I am accustomed to this level of care. I am a teacher, so my schedule changes each semester.

Elise was wonderful with my little dog. She went above and bound. She loves animals so much. I am happy I found her.

Elise was amazing… would HIGHLY recommend trusting her with your fur baby. I have a 6 y/o pekingese named Cory who is my baby and I rarely ever leave him with anyone. He is a mamas boy and I practically bring him everywhere. I needed to find a trusted sitter to board him while I was in Hawaii for a few days. We went for a meet and greet and Cory LOVED Elise instantly. He doesn’t like everyone he meets but once we got to Elise’s he was wagging his tail and SO happy. I immediately felt safe. Elise takes such great care of her baby Truman and loves animals, especially small dogs! He was just as happy when we came to drop him off (which is surprising because he usually gets separation anxiety). Cory & Elise had the best time together!! She took him on walks (even in the rain with a cute doggie umbrella she has), took him out to cafes, on stroller rides, to meet neighborhood pups, and they cuddled on the couch watching the OC together! Her house is stocked with dog beds (16 I believe), toys, an outdoor grass patch with fire hydrant on her secure balcony, and she also cooked fresh rice & chicken that she offered him one night with my permission. Elise made me feel great about leaving Cory in her care, I felt certain he was in good hands. She practically never left his side! I received daily updates and photos without needing to ask. I would absolutely trust her with him again and will be using her in the future for any dog boarding needs!! 10/10 would recommend Elise, she loves animals and actually has the time to care for them and hang out. Came back to a happy, healthy, and clean pup. Happy to be a reference for her anytime :)

Elise is very knowledgable and was so fantastic with my cat Kirin. Her home is very cat friendly and offered plenty of space and areas for Kirin to get comfortable for the week she stayed there. Elise communicated on a regular basis and included pictures, which really helped ease my mind as this was my first time boarding Kirin. This was a great experience overall and I definitely recommend Elise if you are looking for a sitter!

Home visits--especially overnight stays--are limited to housebroken small seniors. I live alone in an airy 3-bedroom condo with a nice balcony (on which I keep a fresh patch of grass) on a nice street with many neighborhood dogs and their owners. I would never leave a dog alone (either in a car or in my home). I am accustomed to a dog who needs me 24/7 and who takes medicine several times a day. Dogs and cats are welcome in all rooms, on all furniture, and on my bed. I have many dog beds and cat condos throughout my condo. I am used to taking senior dogs out every couple of hours and one last time very late at night (and again early in the morning).

Information Elise G. would like to know about your pet

To stay in my home, dogs must be cat-friendly, housebroken and up-to-date on flea meds/shots. Recently bathed is also nice:) Let me know about any special needs or quirky behavior. I have seen it all over the years from adopting seniors and special needs animals and can adapt to whatever quirks they have:)

A typical day

I love taking walks, and I have a doggy stroller for older dogs who get tired. My own senior dogs always enjoyed being strolled around when they were done walking:) For dogs who like outings, I know all of the dog-friendly cafés and parks. For day care, depending on the length of time, I will spend time outdoors with your dog (though my home is also fine if the dog is lower energy). In some cases, I can pick your dog up, spend the day or a few hours with him/her out in the park or walking/strolling, and bring the dog home. If your dog is low energy, I am happy to sit somewhere peaceful, read a book, and let the dog enjoy having some outside time and a companion.
