A couple of ISU faculty here. Call us crazy cat people as we have five cats who we love and treat as our children. And we were really concerned going to two 10 day-long trips in December. Last time, our previous sitter would not "find" one of our cats, so we were about to abort the trip... With Elisabeth, it was all very different and all only positive experience. It was our first time using Rover on recommendation of our vet (the clinic in Somerset - highly recommended to everyone!). Elisabeth was just starting and only had a couple of feedbacks, but those were glowing, exceptional really. And the way she presented and described herself on Rover. So, we decided to contact her (and a couple of other available sitters). She responded immediately and was very forthcoming as far as all communications go. We met her in person and explained our cats needs (one needed daily oral medication). And one of the cats is very sensitive, border-line moody and would hide from the caretakers he did not like. She stayed for a while, listened to what we had to say and greeted every cat, and the moody one came to her to say hi, which was not a typical thing for him to do. The trust was built. And so we left. We had two back to back international trips throughout December and we just returned home Dec 31. Elisabeth was simply amazing. She checked in every day (thanks Rover for that mechanism of "Rover cards") posting a message reflecting on her visit and, every time, she would find all five cats (not really that easy) and photograph them. And, of course, she did all the chores with litter boxes, medicine and wet/dry food routine. So, she really went above and beyond of her normal expected duties. She played with the cats and, I think, bonded with them, which was quite obvious from her daily messages that were getting more and more personal towards the individual cats. It was funny and really great to read them. The cats started expecting her visits and would come out to greet her. (We know, because we have six webcams in the house, so we could see where the cats are. Buy the way, we told Elisabeth about the cams and she was totally cool with that.) To summarize, we only have highly positive feedback for Elisabeth. She is a great pet sitter, a really kind person, who clearly loves and understands animals and treats them with utmost care and respect. For the first time, we really felt confident for the cats at home being on the other side of the globe. I'm so relieved I found Elisabeth to watch my dog while I was out of town for the weekend! I was apprehensive leaving him, but she put my mind at ease by sending picture updates of my pup. Having a fenced backyard is such a plus for me being that my dog lives in my apartment with me. He had so much fun playing outside with her dogs that he was completely wiped out the entire next day after I picked him up. Thank you so much, Elisabeth!
