Service dog and Pet dog trainer

Pet care experience

I am a graduate of Bergin University of Canine Studies with an Associate of Science in Assistance Dog Education. I am a pet dog and service dog trainer and I use R+, clicker training and non-aversive methods. I have experience with leash reactive dogs, dogs with fear and anxiety, obedience and house manners. I am available privately for consultations regarding the inquiry of high level service dog selection, breeding, training and placement with people with disabilities. I primarily utilize my training helping pet dogs and their humans. My boarding, daycare and board and train style is unique because I am kennel free environment. I have a large fenced yard and work with your pets car/public/house manners, human and dog socialization and basic obedience while in my care. Your dog’s behavior is consistently shaped constantly using pawsitive methods. My home is a home away from home type environment and helpful for dogs who live in apartments that don’t have the ability to run off leash regularly. My acceptance of new dogs requires a meet and greet, 2 hour socials if necessary as well as current on all vaccinations and flea/tick/heartworm/kennel cough prevention. I have a passion for helping rescue dogs succeed and live, long and happy lives in permanent homes and offer a recently rescued discount for training. I am comfortable with all types of breeds and available for training assistance with a special focus on working roles and behavior modification and have a strong work ethic and respect for all animals and their people. My dog walking service is an individual training session with each of your dogs. It includes their potty break, exercise, careful exposure to triggers like other dogs and people, and loose leash training. The objective of this 30-45 minute session is to help teach your dog how to walk nicely at your side and not react using methods used to condition service dogs for all environments. I will work with their people to learn how to maintain their progress at a separate rate to ensure your dog's learning remains consistent with all who walk and care for them. Private sessions are available with your permanent dog walkers who struggle with your dog's leash reactivity or pulling. Please contact me if you have questions about private training.

Elisa is a great host in general and even better if your dog needs special training

I both taught and learned from Elisa while she was earning her degree at Bergin University of Canine Studies. She is a thoughtful, kind and patient trainer who always puts the needs of the dog first. If we lived in the same area, I would entrust the care of my dog to Elisa without hesitation.

Elisa has been helping take care of my dog, Dude, since he was 9 weeks old. He immediately bonded with her. And she with him. She helped with those all important mid-afternoon walks while I was at work. She was someone I knew I could count on. When Elisa had to move to New Mexico to take care of her mom, we were definitely sad that she would not be around. But just a few years later, she's back in the Seattle area - now with her Bergin degree - and Dude is so happy (as am I). Dude has always had challenges walking with just his collar. After one weekend with Elisa, he can walk with just his standard collar without pulling. She's patient, loving and kind with Dude and I know she would be with any dog. I'm so glad Elisa is back and I know I'll be booking time for her to care for Dude during my upcoming vacations. You can definitely trust Elisa with your family member(s) - I know I do!

Information Elisa R. would like to know about your pet

I would love to know what motivates your dog; food, play, training, praise, or their favorite activity. I would like to know if your dog has any behavior issues such as resource guarding, separation anxiety, aggression towards people or other animals, territorial behaviors, fears, bite history, special medical needs, all previous experience with training and use of commands. As a trainer, I do not discriminate by breed and I do have an American Pit bull Terrier mix who is always learning to perfect over 80 commands and behaviors to help my client dogs learn. She is usually great with all dogs with a proper intro. She is a spayed adult dog who is obedience and house trained. She is generally good with people of all ages. She has earned her Canine Good Citizen Certification and began her training at 16 months proving it is never too late to start learning. She is always current on all vaccinations and flea/tick/heartworm/kennel cough prevention. We are ready and eager to help you with your difficult dog.
