We're ready to love your pets!

Pet care experience

Eliane has had two family dogs, a Shiba named Maya from 2005 until she passed away at age 14 in 2019; and a rescue named Rose who is now 11. Rose is the sweetest but skittish and prefers her space. Maya was an extremely smart but difficult dog who was not friendly with people or other dogs. Taking care of Maya in her last year, with bi-weekly vet visits, carrying her outside to do her business, and coaxing her around 1 block each evening taught Eliane a lot about care and love. Leah also has a family dog, Pom, a 9 year old pomeranian. Caring for extremely anxious Pom has also taught Leah a lot about catering to our furry friends' needs. Eliane is a law student with a largely flexible schedule. Leah is a lawyer working for the government. Both are eager to spend as much time outside and moving as possible, particularly in the (mid) morning and late afternoons or evenings. Having had multiple dogs, including one escape artist (Maya), we are very aware of checking enclosed spaces to ensure these are fully closed. We also understand any preferences to keep pets to specific areas of the house or off certain furniture.

Eliane was great! She walked/fed Jax over a weekend that I was out of town. She came to my place to do a meet and greet so that she could meet him and I could show her around. Jax is a rescue pup, has separation anxiety and sometimes barks at new people, but he warmed up to Eliane immediately without hesitation! Eliane asked great questions and messaged when she wasn’t sure of something. We will be using her again for future dog walks!

Eliane is a great caregiver and big dog lover! She has been a partial owner (of family dogs) for 16 years. When our older dog's health was declining, Eliane was there to help however needed. She showed patience and compassion in tending to a 14-year-old dog's needs. That dog also had a bit of a challenging personality, which taught Eliane a lot about dog behavior. She's a seasoned caregiver who will give your pup so much love! She's also a runner and would provide great exercise opportunities if needed. I can't recommend her enough as a dog sitter on Rover.

Safety, trust & environment

We would be sure to check all enclosures before letting pets inside, for example making sure gates are closed before letting pets out. We would diligently adhere to any crating or restricted area practices by clients.

Information Eliane & Leah B. would like to know about your pet

Let us know if you or your pet have any specific preferences or routines to be adhered to, including the way in which you feed or reward your pet. Let us know how you like them taken on walks - e.g. a bit more disciplined on the leash or much more relaxed. Please let us know the degree of structure you prefer to maintain with your pet.

A typical day

Depending on the dog’s personality and preferences, we would love to bring them to well-frequented dog areas so they can make new friends. We would also both stimulate dogs physically with good walks and allow them to take their time and “smell the morning journal” on slower walks, getting a sense for which furry friends have also stopped by. We love trying to teach dogs new things, if clients are amenable.
