Farm house boarding and training

Pet care experience

I'm a dog trainer and if your dog also needs some obedience training I can provide that. I do also know people who do behavior mods if your dog needs that. All my dogs are trained and social with dogs. They're outside most of the time but supervised and fenced in. I love dogs and love to help in anyway. I also use to watch horses, and a variety of animals. Exotics too. I'm hoping to get some extra money for better kennel space and dog equipment. I'm also a college student so every bit helps out. I have experience with pet breeds to working dog breeds such as the Belgian malinois, dutchies, rottweilers, and hounds. I hope to see you and you pet soon. I'm a stay at home mom so I'm pretty much around the clock taking care of the house/my daughter and the dog's needs. I'm up by 6-7am and dogs are all asleep by 9-10pm unless I have a puppy then it's every 2 hours like clock work All dogs are kenneled during down time. We have camera in the dog room and yard to monitor them 24/7. I am always outside with them. Play groups are made based on how the dogs interact with eachother. Up at 5 or 6 am with the dogs, letting them our for free time and potty hour every 2 hours. We are up till 11pm and with younger pups we may even get up through the night to make sure the pups get adequate potty time We have a room dedicated to our dogs. All dogs are kenneled during down time and are monitored 24/7 by a camera. We use flea and tick preventives in our kennel room and yard, but due to our neighbor's dogs, neighborhood strays, and the fact we do get irrigation, ticks can still be possibility so tick and flea preventative should be used on your pups. Ticks are nature after all

Elia cared for our three dogs for 16 nights while we were away. She offered to pick them up and then return them to us, and I now know why: she doesn’t want the client to see her home or yard. After she returned our dogs to us- while letting us know they were fine throughout the trip, we discovered they were all three absolutely covered in ticks. Of course the dogs had already ran through the house excitedly so we ended up with ticks on our bed and our children’s beds in addition to the couch and other places. That being said, I understand ticks can happen. We don’t have ticks in our area and the vet has always informed us preventative meds weren’t necessary. Anyways, when I confronted Alia about this and asked if she - 1. KNEW they had ticks but didn’t feel the need to mention it to us, or 2. Didn’t care for them closely enough to even realize, she admitted she did know. She had been giving them oatmeal baths during their stay, yet never mentioned this to us while we were away, or when she dropped them back to us. Our dogs all had red rashes covering most of their visible skin and the vet- who they sat the next morning in order to start oral meds for treatment- stated it indicated they’ve had a severe tick infestation. We found massive ticks between their toes- approaching dime-sized that had been there for at least several days. On of our dogs had an ear infection from a tick inside of it as well and is now being treated for that as well. Our dogs had to suffer while we used tweezers to pick ticks off of them for HOURS each. Also, when confronted, Elia stated her neighbor’s yard is infested with ticks and fleas and there’s not really anything she can do about it. While I empathize with that, it means she shouldn’t be running a dog boarding business from her yard since she knows the risks. At a minimum, she needs to disclose it so all in her care can be on a preventative before her arrival to pickup their dogs. Had she told us when she noticed they had ticks, or even told us when she returned them to us, I wouldn’t be all that upset. Instead, she let them suffer for the better part of two weeks and then left us to discover the infestation on our own rather than alerting us. I have reached out to her multiple times since the initial text messages and she will not respond. However, her initial responses- of which I have screenshots, are where she admits to knowing they got ticks while there, and the issue with her yes/the neighbor’s yard. RUN FAR from boarding here.

Elia was great with our two dogs and made them feel comfortable. We received daily text updates about how they were doing and behaving.

This was our first time using Rover and having our pup stay with someone. Our pup seemed to have a lot of fun playing with their dogs. We did have a couple of questions throughout the week and response times were slow, but other than that great overall.

Information Elia A. would like to know about your pet

I don't have a breed preference but I would hope to know any issues your dog has and what tools you use if you want to have your dog walked. I wont use any of mine unless you want to try it out.

A typical day

When I'm not in school I mostly focus on working my dogs and taking care of my daughter. We normally play ball outside and do obedience. We also love to walk around the park and neighborhood to get desensitized to the sights and sounds.
