I got into this business to provide quality pet care at an affordable rate because I want it for my pets. ❤️ I am 27 years old and have lived in Athens for 10 years. I have a bachelors & masters degree in education and was a 3rd grade teacher for 5 years. I am currently working in a medical recruiting office and I also provide freelance marketing services for local businesses. I have 2 large dogs, a lab/hound mix named Nora (7 years) and a bully mix named Tommy (4-5 years?). My work schedule is consistent and stable; I work 9-5 Monday through Friday. I also have the flexibility to leave and return to my job as needed. So if your pet needs a day-time check-in, I can be there! This is a “side hustle” for me, but I take the responsibility of securing safety, comfort, routine, and respect for your pet(s) very seriously. I have been a volunteer with AthensPets for many years and have been trained to work with dogs with a variety of temperaments. I have also worked with them on advocating & promoting dogs on social media. I love cute pet pics, and I’d love to take some for you! My bully mix, Tommy, was a rescue. He had heartworms, so he was crated for the first few months of being in our home. Once he recovered from heartworms & became acclimated to the house, he began to show signs of severe food aggression. This has led to fights with his sister, Nora, who also has some food & territory aggression. Because of these challenges with my own pets, I feel I have a deep understanding & respect of every pet’s individual needs and personalities. You never need to apologize for your pet being themselves & living their best lives! The experience I have gained from pet parenthood along with my training and experience as a volunteer at Animal Control helps me to feel comfortable around all dogs.
