Pet care experience
I reside in Logan Square/ Palmer Square area in a duplex house with two dog lovin roommates. It is one block north of the 606 trail and one block south of Palmer square park. I have cared for my two family dogs and I’m the go-to dog and cat sitter for my close friends. I have my own car for any emergencies and dogs that enjoy car rides. I have experience caring for dogs with medical problems and administrating medicines such as ointments, pills, and shots. I have knowledge on grooming most kinds of dogs. I am athletic and like to be outside so I can make sure dogs get the right amount of exercise needed and able to handle cold weather. Lastly, I am a natural caregiver and promise to treat every dog or cat like they are own.

Elena did a great job taking care of our dog Rhen at our home! Elena sent us updates while we were away and was flexible with communication. I could tell that Rhen received a lot of attention during her stay with Elena. We will definitely book with her next time we are out of town.
Elena is super sweet and communicative. Loved having her walk our dog, especially in the crazy Chicago weather! Highly recommend!

I have a fenced in yard that wraps around the whole property. There is a beagle mix dog that lives downstairs in the garden unit. He is very friendly and gets along with other dogs. The owner is very respectful and loves it whenever Bernie can make new friends! And since there is another dog on the property, we make sure all front and back gates are always closed and secured. I do have two male roommates who are dog lovers but are gone often. I have full confidence and trust in them to be caring and welcoming to any dog who stays with us. Kitty, my cat, gets along very well with dogs, if they respect her space. She is quite sassy but I’ve had a number of dogs be around her and she’s never had an issue with any of them.

It’s very important to be upfront about any medical, special needs, or triggers your dog might have. I want to give every dog the best care possible so I need what the do’s and don’ts are. Epically when it comes to food! I need to know if I have to keep my cats food out of reach and/or make sure if your dog is allowed any human food. Non-important side note: Corgis are my absolute favorite dog!!
A typical day
I love being outside. Whether it be taking long walks and/or sitting and reading in the park. Your doggo will always get the physical exercise they need. I also love engaging with dogs on a more personal level. We all talk to our pets and I truly enjoy talking to dogs cause I really do believe they understand us and it makes them happier. So we’re gonna have long conversations about tv shows ending and sitting on game nights with my roommates.

Availability
I’m currently working a part-time job and a seasonal job. During the week, I’m complete my work day by 2pm and have the rest of the day for whatever else I have planned. Early evening to late evening check ins and walks are doable. If a dog were to stay with me for a long period of time, our day would start bright and early at 4am.
