Pet care experience
I love taking care of animals and am a passionate advocate for the safety and well being of all animals. I raised a rescue puppy over quarantine and potty trained him while being a full time student. I also rescued a stray kitten I found in a parking lot. I spent weeks socializing him and found him a safe home with a human he trusts. Animals teach us patience and understanding, and I believe positive reinforcement is the best way to train animals.

In addition to feeding and giving pets, I like to focus on what the pet needs from me in terms of how they like to spend their days. For dogs, I love to give them lots of time outside and enjoy walking with them as much as they do. For cats, especially younger ones, I like to play with them as much as they like. It is important for them to burn energy, and not all cats want to cuddle all day long.

It is important to know your pet’s energy levels so that I can walk slow or run with them. Also if they have any health conditions like asthma that would make it important to stop for frequent breaks.
A typical day
My dogs at my mom’s house love to play fetch and tug. They are both pretty big dogs with a lot of energy and I like to take them for long walks and toss the tennis ball in our backyard. In Corpus, I like to walk near the water at a nature trail by my apartment complex. There is also a dog park near me that would give them the space to run around safely.

Availability
I am a part time student at TAMUCC, so I am only available Wednesday mornings and afternoons, Friday mornings and afternoons, and all day Saturday and Sunday.
