I rescued a mixed breed, Anderson, 18 and a half years ago and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. She passed about three years ago and I wanted to wait to rescue again until I bought a house. In the meantime, I missed being with a dog terribly. I'd like to hang out with yours until I can rescue again. Pet sitting will helped me save a down payment more quickly and now it is helping me chose my next breed. Over time, I've been a dogsitter for fun - staying in people's homes, having their dogs in my house or walking their dogs while they are away. I have experience with many breeds and love them all! I have a full time job, so I'm not doing this because I have to, I want to dogsit to be with dogs. I enjoy having them around, and I believe that dogs know when people are there because they want to be rather than because they have to be. When I traveled and needed a plan for Anderson, I didn't like the idea of boarding her - I just didn't want her in a cage all day, so I paid people to petsit in my home. I'm excited about providing that opportunity for other people that need to be away from their dog. As my dog got older, I stopped dogsitting so I could focus on her. But now I've been sitting again for more than a year and I'm enjoying it while I get ready to rescue my next companion.
