Pet care experience
I have cared for dogs and cats for many years first as pets in my home and then for friends and neighbors. Our last dog was an English Cocker Spaniel and lived to be 15 so I have experience with older animals. I have been with Rover for six years and I learn even more from each dog and cat. I treat my client's pets as though they were mine because they are family members and deserve that personal attention. I really love Cesar Milan's calm-assertive approach with dog care. They are not playthings that are there to make people feel better. They are living, breathing, feeling beings that deserve our respect of their personal space. But at the same time, they WANT someone to keep their world in balance and order so they can just relax and be themselves. That is my goal when staying with my client's pets.

Elaine is an exceptional pet sitter! My 2 yr labrador requires special care with her joint issues, and she took care of my dog like family. I really appreciated all her care and love for my dog. I treat my client dogs and cats as if they were my own. If I have to leave their house, I limit being gone to no more than 4 hours. I am able to administer medications and special diets.

I don't have any breed preferences really. I have cared for dogs over 100 lbs. and down to 8 lbs. My experience with large breeds is they are gentle giants and most are easy going. The tiny dogs just want to be given attention and know that you are listening to them. I let cats show me what makes them happy. Some want interaction and others will just want me to keep the food and water bowls filled. Either way - that is why I am there.
A typical day
We can go on walks around the neighborhood or maybe to a neighborhood park. If they like to play fetch, that's a great way to drain energy but I always watch for any signs of over heating especially in the Texas heat.
