Dogs are a Family Affair

Pet care experience

Canine Flu 2023 - Upper Respiratory Illness There are a lot of unknowns about this newest canine illness. We should all do our best to work to avoid the spread of this disease by following some basic recommendations: Keep your dog up to date on vaccines, including but not limited to Bordetella, Parainfluenza, and Canine Influenza, and avoid direct contact with other dogs. If your dog has been exposed to a dog with an upper respiratory illness, but is showing no symptoms, it is recommended you quarantine that dog for a minimum of 2 weeks. Do not take it to any areas where other dogs will be. If your dog has been exposed to a dog with an upper respiratory illness, and is showing symptoms, it is recommended you quarantine that dog for a minimum of 4 weeks after all symptoms have passed. Do not take it to any areas where other dogs will be. Absolutely do not take your dog to any events if it is showing signs of respiratory illness such as coughing, sneezing, wheezing, any nasal discharge, lack of energy, or difficulty breathing. I have owned and loved animals all of my life. As a child I had pet dogs, cats & horses. I started housesitting when I was a teenager, taking care of the neighbors dogs, cats & horses. I majored in Animal Science in college where I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree. I have worked in several different capacities for Veterinarians. I started competing in Dog Agility and Flyball way back in 1990 and trained all of my own dogs to compete. My Labrador Retriever Millie was the first Labrador Retriever to attain the USDAA Agility Dog Champion title. I met my dog loving husband of 19 years through dog sports. Our now teenage girls ride horses and train and show their own dogs. Dogs are a family affair at our house! We all currently compete in dog agility with our dogs. We also foster dogs for Southern Nevada Shetland Sheepdog Rescue. We live on a 1 acre ranchette with 5 dogs, 4 horses, 2 cats and 12 chickens.

Not a safe place for your dog! My dog came back home with bloody diarrhea and sever anxiety. It took him months to recover.

Took my 6 month old Belgian Malinois pup to Elaine, I was very impressed with her knowledge about dog behavior and was very pleased. I highly recommend her

I greatly appreciate and recommend Elaine! My pup has stayed over a few times, each experience being wonderful. I always feel confident leaving my girl in her care (:
