Pet care experience
I've had different pet dogs and cats (including a puppy and kittens), fish, hermit crabs, and birds since I was 6 years old, and I currently have pet mice and a leopard gecko. I also have some experience with separation anxiety in dogs. I volunteered for years at Days End Farm Horse Rescue where I worked with horses, miniature donkeys, and goats, and I currently volunteer at the Montgomery County Animal Services & Adoption Center with cats and small mammals. Since I was a kid, I've been pet sitting and dog walking for family and friends when they need it. Sadly I don't have any cats or dogs now due to allergies in my home - that's a big reason why I'm wanting to do more dog walking and pet sitting, so I can hang out with animals more and have fun! I'm excited to help out with anyone who needs pet care, whether it's with dogs, cats, fish, birds, reptiles, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, barnyard animals, etc. I do not have as much experience with birds, fish, and barnyard animals other than horses, but I am ready to learn how you take care of your pet/s and do exactly as you ask! I am also ready to learn to take care of a species I have not had prior experience with.

Eillonwy provided excellent care for our three cats for the week we were away. Beyond the basics (food, litter, love), she took their photos (daily - which we loved), provided several medications for our littlest cat (who was recovering from a difficult medical procedure), ensured that the two cats who do a trick actually did the trick daily, and kept us up to date. We heartily recommend Eillonwy as a cat-friendly and attentive sitter, and look forward to her next appointment with us to take care of our furry friends.
Eillonwy is wonderful with all animals! I have a pretty difficult dog, and she is great with him! She has a calm and patient energy that all three of my dogs gravitate toward.

Information Eillonwy A. would like to know about your pet
I'd like to know ahead of time the number and species of pets I'll be caring for of course, as well as their age and any special needs they have and medicine I will need to administer to them (I am always willing to learn how to best care for them!) and if they have any tendencies I'd need to look out for (such as destructive behaviors, going to the bathroom on the floor, over grooming, biting, scratching, escaping, etc.). Let me know everything you would like me to do for them, so I can prepare in advance.
A typical day
I love to just hang out with all sorts of animals (especially when they miss their owners on vacation), whether it's being active or not. With dogs I like to go for walks of any length, whatever you prefer and whatever your dog most needs! I like to play fetch, tug-o-war, and other games with active dogs, and even sometimes go for runs. I also sometimes like to practice basic tricks. When the holidays come around, I may make a special treat to give to your pup! My favorite toys to use with cats are "fishing" toys, and sometimes I also like to make cat toys and toys/enrichment for small mammals and birds. I enjoy bringing fresh fruits, veggies, and/or seeds as treats for small mammals, horses, and birds, and I keep cat treats at home that I can bring with me as well.

Availability
I am typically available from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Sunday-Monday & Friday-Saturday. On Tuesdays I am available after 10:30 a.m., and Wednesdays and Thursdays I am available most of the day, except a regular dog walk from 11:00-11:30 a.m.
