It's a Dog & Cat World - Enjoy it!
Pet care experience
Hello, I have enjoyed the companionship of many dogs and cats in my life since I was a kid. I am always the person that a dog or cat likes, when the owner says their furry friend doesn't like people. I have never used the term "owning" when referring to a beloved furry companion. Our animals choose us, not the other way around. My wife and I were chosen by our current master, a handsome Pug fittingly named "Guapo", as he is seen in my profile picture. He let me marry his mommy, and I am grateful he chose me for her. Animal owners understand this. I consider myself lucky to have experienced so many great memories with friends/families and their furry landlords, figuratively speaking.
Reviews
I have no doubt that Eddie is a very caring, loving and responsible doggie caregiver! Eddie's pug and our Shih Tzu are buddies and I have had numerous opportunities to observe Eddie in doggie caregiver mode. I love how he speaks to the pups and creates a conversation with them. Eddie is patient, kind and playful with all the dogs. Any pup would enjoy spending time with him.
I have a 5 year old pug named Guapo. Guapo is my baby and I'm very selective with his care and who gets to be around him. Eddie had to pass the Guapo Test before he could stay. Guapo adores him! Eddie is gentle and playful with my active little boy, always keeping his breed deficiencies in mind-like no walks or crazy playtime in the heat (because of his squish face). He's always talking to him and bonding with him - mostly over food time! He's great with calming him down for nail trimmings and loud noises (fireworks and motorcycles). He makes sure Guapo is fed correctly and has fresh, cool water. My Guapo thinks people are great but he loves his Eddie like he loves his mama (me!) which speaks volumes to someone like me who loves their pug baby!

Information Edward O. would like to know about your pet
The most important facet of caring for and sitting a dog is the honesty and communication of the owner to everyone that is in contact with their dog. For example, an owner relaying important information about any health issues or concerns, allergies, the preferred plan for an emergency, and the basic behavior(s) of the dog. Secondly, I ask questions and communicate with the dog's "tenant" to clarify what specific needs/instructions are to be followed for the dog to have the most comfortable experience (i.e. Does your dog have its favorite potty locations? Does your cat interact more before or after they eat?).
A typical day
The activities and walking plans vary with each animal. Some prefer sitting on a lap and getting the best ear and belly scratches, while others love tug of war and fetch. That's the fun part about dogs and cats: they have no problem telling us what they like and dislike. Building that bond with them is part of choosing the best activities for THEM, not the owner or sitter.
