When doing drop ins, I like to follow whatever the owner's routine is. I can let them out in a fenced in yard, or walk them while they are leashed. I love having clear written instructions, but I usually feed them, and do other chores like tidying up, cleaning the litter box, or filling the water while they eat. Then I will usually spend some time with them on the couch. If they are boarded with me they will be crated at night and when I am at work, but will follow their normal feeding schedule. They get free reign of the couch and house while I am home and I will walk them twice a day, or take them to the dog park if permitted.
