I am an experienced dog handler and behaviorist, and I only accept 1-2 dogs at a time, which means your dog will enjoy a structured, calm, and familiar home environment. We specialize in providing care for more anxious, easily overstimulated dogs, or dogs that do better in home-like environments. My dog and I work as a team in rehabilitating anxious dogs in my work as a behaviorist, so if your dog stays with us, they will enjoy a serene home environment. We balance out the calm home environment with 1-1.5 hours of structured nature and park walks/jogs everyday to keep your dog happy and healthily stimulated. I live in a very quiet neighborhood with direct front door access to a 1 mile private paved path and manicured grass patches that overlook a large canyon nature reserve. It’s the best combo of private park and fenced backyard, full of great smells and stimulating sights for dogs! My depth of experience in dog care and training comes from my relationship with my own dog. We are a certified therapy animal team and participate in agility training, activities which necessitate a keen intuition for a dog's needs and wants. My priority above all else lies in establishing communication that has a foundation grounded in mutual respect, care, and joy. As a dog behaviorist, I have successfully rehabilitated dogs that are fearful, anxious, and easily overstimulated. My training style is informed by the latest scientific research in the nervous system and my daycare-and-train programs are spread out over a longer period of time to ensure lasting change.
