I have had dogs all my life, and have taken care of other peoples dogs for the past 8 years. I have taken care of older dogs, who just like to sit down and rest, and younger dogs who want me to throw the ball or chase them around the yard.

Dylan is our go to sitter for our two pups. He treats them like his own and I feel instantly at ease when I leave them with him; he’s really a great find! He stays over, provides regular updates, and is all around reliable. Our pups love him because he genuinely plays with them and makes sure they’re well taken care of.

In the client's home, I prefer to get assistance from the owners. They will leave instructions regarding feeding, bathroom breaks, sleeping, and more. It can also be helpful to meet the dogs while the owners are present to get them acclimated to me. I also take cues from the owners on how frequently they want updates. Do they want daily pictures at feeding time or bathroom time? It depends on what the client is interested in.

I refer to the owner for all direction in regards to feeding, bathroom breaks, playtime, etc. You live with your dog 24/7 and they are a part of the family, so you know how they like things to be done. In addition, any pertinent information that is not normally expected by the sitter, such as, afraid of certain sounds, does not like certain behavior, is helpful to ensure that both the dog and the sitter have a good experience.
A typical day
I like to meet dogs where they are at, whether that is just enjoying each other's company on the back deck, or throwing the ball back and forth. If the owner permits, and the dog is comfortable, we may go on rides to see the outside world.

I work 9-5, but am available on weekends, and can take time off here and there to accommodate someone's schedule. If work permits, I can work remotely, provided there is Wi-Fi available.
