All pets REQUIRED to be NEUTERED and CURRENT on VACCINES and FLEA TREATMENT!! I offer doggie daycare, nail trims, ear cleaning, medication/fluid administration, baths, and patient advocacy. I offer in home pet care and pet health consulting. Pet sitting services are done in my home, or yours. I travel up to 5 miles from my house, in Glendale Heights. I specialize in hard to care for pets such as those medically fragile, or have anxiety. I of course love when "easy" dogs come over too! I have worked as a veterinary nurse in the emergency room for the past 11 years, so I am more than qualified to handle all your pet care needs. I have extensive experience with digestive issues, diabetics, renal disease, cardiac conditions and hypo/hyper thyroid disease. Pets will enjoy their time boarding at our house. They will have that homey feel and even their own bed to sleep in if they like! I love to let friendly dogs run around with my dogs, with full supervision, during socialization times. Doggie daycare pups will be taught/reinforced on basic commands. They have full run of the yard most of the day. I try and get puppies schedules in line with the other puppies coming for maximum socialization. They will also have my dogs to socialize with. Puppies, in my humble opinion should always be crate trained and this is also reinforced every day for at least 1 hour. Usually this is around mid-day. This gives house dogs a chance to recharge as well as give an opportunity to associate positive rewards with a kennel. Kennels should always be a happy place! I encourage you to feed your dog in their kennel and always treat them when they go in. Overnights, guest pups are typically in their own room or kennel. Every once in a while we break this rule, and let dogs sleep with us. For high anxiety types I will go upstairs and sleep with them. We walk 1x daily. During the day pups have full run of my large backyard. If your pup is here for multiple days often we will visit a house that has 4 acres fenced in. We call it the "dog park". The dogs love it! I do not promote actual dog parks because of all the injuries that happen there. I no longer offer cat boarding. With all the dogs here, it is a high stress environment for any cat. Stress in cats can cause many health issues. Up to 3 boarders can board at any given time and will be given their own room or kennel. Unless otherwise specified all boarders will be fed twice daily and socialized at least four times daily. I love to send picture updates on how your pet is doing while you are away! I am insured whether care be at my house or yours. I require meet and greets for all first time stays. This must be done when it is still light outside. Dogs do not do well meeting new friends in the dark or in extreme weather, and it can be difficult to read body language if you can’t see. The meet and greet serves many important purposes the most important being properly introduced and to smell out the place/ leave scents for when your dog comes back. I try and get all meet and greets done during the week between 7a-7p. I will not do same day meet and greets followed by a stay. This does not set a good tone for pack relations.
