I’d love to care for your doggos!

Pet care experience

Hello everyone! My name is Drew and I am a very friendly and outgoing pup lover! I had my own doggo, Willie, for the past 16 years and now I’m hoping to help others take care of their animals! My apartment is open to care for one animal on weekends but I’m willing to be flexible with that. Besides that I offer walks, drop-ins, and over night stays with your animals. Willie was an older dog and had some medical issues so I’m also used to giving dogs meds, even if they don’t wanna take it lol. I have got a reliable car and am willing to travel pretty far for the right pet. I am always available if you have any questions or are interested in my services, contact me anytime! I look forward to hearing from you. I’m currently working from home so your pup will have a friend to hang out and snuggle with 24/7. I usually walk them 4 times a day. There will never be another pet at my home while your pet stays with me. While you’re away on your trip having fun they’ll be doing the same with me! It’ll be like a doggycation. With loads of pets and lots of walks.

Drew and his girlfriend took care of my dog Yani for 8 days over the Christmas break. We got constant pictures and videos from Drew. My husband joked they should maybe not be so good bc Yani wouldn’t want to come home. We had last minute travel changes and Drew was communicative and worked with us the best he could. When my friend picked up Yani for us she said Yani looked very happy. Def recommend them for your dog sitting needs!

The bottom line of this review is: If you are at all concerned with (a) your dog having any distress during your time away, (b) that their needs will be considered and met, and (c) that your sitter will communicate these issues with you in a timely and professional fashion, DO NOT USE DREW AS A SITTER. After three days of telling me that everything was all good over messages (despite me telling him to contact me if anything seemed wrong), Drew sent me the following message at 4:30am on the fourth day of my trip: "Hey man so Linda and I were just awoken to our room smelling like shit because shadow pooped allll over our floor. We took him out 4 times yesterday, 3 long walks just like your schedule and while we were cleaning the room I walk out and he’s shitting in the kitchen AGAIN!! He didn’t try to alert us or bark or whine at us. He just shit twice in the house. Now I’ve had over 50 different dogs stay here and only one other one has ever pooped inside and that dog was very clearly not potty trained at all. Not to mention that shadow also very much gets into to stuff and cannot be left alone for longer than 5 minutes. He’s chewed up stuff from our table, he’s grabbed stuff outta the trash can, he chewed on the actual table legs themselves. All of this has happened and he hasn’t been left alone but for an hour, yesterday, while we walked another dog." At 4:40am I received another text: "And we know it’s not like he doesn’t know how to bark to alert us. He literally barks at every single sound. Like anytime our neighbors leave or enter their apartment he goes nuts. Now a lot of this I would’ve just let go and wouldn’t have said anything. But once he shit on our floor two times within 3 hours of last being taken out and not even a whimper, I had to say something man" Drew's behavior and messages were so unsettling that I booked a same-day flight from my business trip and canceled a days worth of activities. That was how much I did not want my dog to stay with Drew even one more night. Not only were they completely unprofessional and accusatory, but their tone was angry and suggested to me that clearly something had been wrong on each of the preceding days but I had heard NOTHING about it. I was unsure what Drew would do to Shadow and, not knowing him well, didn't know if he would hurt Shadow, make him feel threatened or scared, or something else. This freaked me out even more, so I made a lot of calls and told Drew I was adjusting my flight and coming home immediately. At first, he declined to adjust the sitting stay to end on Saturday until I told him I would be contacting Rover. He then adjusted the stay, stating ""Ruben decided to come pick up his dog after I told him that Shadow was misbehaving," continuing to interpret Shadow's behavior as "misbehavior" rather than distress. A terrible lack of insight for someone who is supposed to care for dogs. Since then, he has accused me of lying about my dog being trained, even though it is extremely clear that he was in distress and his needs were not being met. Anyone who knows how to care for dogs recognizes that dogs get distressed in strange situations, and sometimes that means having accidents or acting out. And when a dog owner has communicated with you that (a) this is their dog's first time being boarded away from home, and (b) their dog acts one way usually, and that they aren't acting in that same way, YOU SHOULD CONTACT THE OWNER. Again, I cannot stress enough that this experience was a nightmare. I hope this helps someone make a more informed choice on having Drew as a sitter.
