Pet care experience
You need someone who'll love and care for your dog like they're our own. We're here to help. We're Doyle and Sarah. We've owned dogs, fostered dogs, and been dogsitters most of our adult lives. Our most recent girl, Sadie, was an overreactive border collie mix who taught us so much, and brought us on a journey to learn about counter conditioning. Currently we are between dogs, so your dog can be the only dog here if that's what's best for them. Prior to getting on Rover.com, our main clients were friends' dogs, including mainly medium-to-large lab, retriever, border collie, labradoodle, boxer, and many a beloved unidentifiable mixed breed. We're a soft touch for belly rubs and couch cuddles. We love to walk, hike, and play ball in the backyard. We use positive reinforcement only, so we can't take care of your pet if you use a shock collar, prong collar or other aversives.

I feel that Sarah did an excellent job caring for my fur-girl Bella. This was our first time using Rover and my first time leaving Bella with someone other than family. Sarah actually put me at ease about leaving Bella with her on our first meeting before the actual sitting dates started. During my trip, Sarah sent text updates and pictures showing Bella's experience. This put me totally at ease. I would definitely use Sarah again and recommend her to my friends. Thank you Sarah and Thank you Rover for a very good, positive experience.
Sarah looked after our pup like she was her own! I’m grateful for the updates and photos we received during the visit. She really went above and beyond to make sure our girl ate (not a great eater), including hand feeding her. I know who I am calling on next time we go away!!
Lulu had a great time with Sarah. We’re so appreciative of her taking the best care of Lulu! Highly recommend!
Sarah was wonderful. She did a meet & greet with us before my trip and was so thorough and intentional in making sure that I was comfortable and that she knew everything she needed to know about my dog. She took such good care of him and sent lots of updates and pictures. Will 100% be using her again!

We play by your rules because your dog deserves as much consistency as possible. So you just communicate what you need done re: food, medicines, boundaries, training, exercise, etc., and it will get done. Our shady backyard has a solid, 6-foot cedar fence, and we don't use any chemicals in our yard.

Please provide thorough information around food and medicine, and contact information for your vet, because your dog's health is our No. 1 priority. It's helpful to know about your dog's typical behavior on walks, and their reactions to strangers and other dogs. If your dog has triggers, please don't downplay them. We've met many dogs and have probably already met a dog like yours. We can work with your dog to make their world as big or as small as makes them happy and comfortable.
A typical day
Regular daily walks are in our quiet residential streets. Longer walks are to the Shelby Park trails, which are just a few blocks away. If your dog likes to hike, on the weekend we can drive to a local trail and go hiking. We have a safe, fenced backyard that is excellent for playing fetch and tug. If your dog enjoys mental challenges, we can do clicker training or snuffle mats or puzzle balls ... there's lots of fun to be had at our house!

Availability
FT work-from-home software marketing professional, so your dogs get outside time every 2 hours, they get walks in a.m. and p.m., and they get attention and love throughout the day. We're on a quiet street, and only about a 10-minute walk from Shelby Park trails.
