Pet care experience
While many consider dogs to be 'man's best friend,' I'm for sure a dog's best friend, with several years experience raising and caring for a variety of dogs, including Beagles, Pugs, Labs, Golden Retrievers and others. I'm an experienced professional dog walker and sitter. I write articles on pet care for blogs and online sites and leverage my experience, knowledge, and love of animals to provide client's pets with the safest, most enjoyable experience. Palmer Doggie Depot in nearby Fishtown and grassy Norris Square Park are close-by destinations. The house is a two-story row home, in which I work part-time as well. So skip the fright and drabness of a kennel, book your pet's stay at this little doggie b&b - you can't go wrong with such first-rate home care and amenities!

Doug was great! Very responsive, sent pictures, and very kindly cared for our dog on Christmas Eve and Christmas. His dog Tonka is also an absolute sweetheart!
Doug was an awesome sitter from start to finish, even before we actually left for our trip. He set up a meet and greet for us to go check out the digs, meet him and Tonka, and make sure it was a good fit ahead of our departure date. When we were away he sent us some updates letting us know how things were going and everything with Ferdie seemed to be status quo. She was so comfortable that she even ATE which she sometimes doesn't when we're gone. Glad she was able to make new friends on this stay! We'll definitely use Doug again for our sitting needs :)

This was the first time I used Rover and Doug was great! He set up a meet and greet to make sure my Nina and his Tonka got along. He also sent a picture of Nina every day. I will definitely use him again!

I currently live in an apartment complex on the square of a notable public park in the Fishtown area. Easy access and use of the park, which is one square mile in size and has been renovated by the city, is a great amenity for doggy walks and breaks.

Let me know if your dog has special needs or gets anxious or is overly aggressive. I work from the home, so supervision will be constant and dogs can be separated easily between the front and back of the apartment. But since space size is not large, it’s best to board dogs with compatible temperament.
A typical day
Three walks daily in Norris Square Park, where dogs go to romp and run in the historic tree filled city park. There is an occasional visit to Palmer Doggie Depot in Fishtown, just a few blocks away.

Availability
I work for a nonprofit environmental program, mostly writing reports in my home office. Occasionally, brief site visits are needed for property inspection, which takes me away from home for only a few hours.
