Pet care experience
The past fifteen years for me have included being a volunteer dog walker at Berkeley Animal Shelter; working for animal rescue non-profit The MILO Foundation; being a dog handler at three dog daycare facilities. I currently am guardian to a multi-cat household, so I have knowledge about being a caregiver to canines and felines. I aim to maintain a fun, stress-free, and compassionate relationship with all the furry ones I care for, past and present.

Dorothy has stayed with my two high need dogs for at least three vacations. It's great to have her in my home 24/7, and to know the dogs can be in their own comfortable and stress-free environment instead of a kennel. She is reliable, clean, and great with the animals. Each one gets two-20 to 30 minute walks a day, as well as time in the backyard. Dorothy even checks in on our small snake to make sure he has water and that his heat lamp is still working! Dorothy rocks!!!
One can enjoy vacation knowing Dorothy is back at our home taking excellent care of our dog/dogs. When she first came to meet us she immediately bonded with Mouse by giving him treats she had with her. She took him for several walks each day, brushed him regularly and gave him all the TLC he desired. At the end of her first stay she gave us a good suggestion, which we took, and was glad she pointed it out. In addition she will take care of household tasks like taking garbage out, watering and she left our home cleaner than we left it. We were kept updated and she even sent us a video one time. Her fee, which some might think is a little high, was well worth every penny because of her concern, knowledge, and dedication. To repeat you can miss your dog while on vacation but can feel comfortable that your dog is on a staycation with Dorothy.
Dorothy A has taken extremely good care of our dogs during our recent trip. She made sure they got their supplements, walked them daily, groomed them and she made sure they were safe. She comes once a week to walk them now that we're back. We appreciate Dorothy A. more than we can say! I highly recommend her for dog sitting/walking!
We have a loving but fearful, adult male pit mix who is completely deaf. We recently needed a dog sitter for an upcoming trip and tried desperately to find anyone to consider sitting him in our home. Dorothy came recommended from a friend. She is responsible, kind and conscientious. She makes the extra effort to meet our dog for a walk prior to her sitting date to make sure they are comfortable. She has watched our dog in our home 3 times now. She takes great care of our dog, giving him personal attention and leaves detailed information on their activities and walks. Dorothy is very clean and always leaves our house tidier then when we left. I would highly recommend her to any of my friends with pets.

A typical day
Your dog will have my undivided attention, as I never book more than one pet sitting job at a time. Pet sitting is my job, so I won't be away during the day, and your dog will never be left alone. I usually stick to the daily walk route a pet's owner normally takes the dog(s), so the dog's routine is the same, so it's familiar to them. If the dog doesn't have a regular set route where they walk, we would just take walks around the neighborhood. If it's an elderly dog, we would stroll around the neighborhood. If your dog agrees, I will be happy to give him or her a bath, trim nails, and / or clean ears. For cat sitting alone, my fee is $40 per overnight stay. For dog sitting, and there is a cat in the household, my fee is my standard $60 per overnight stay, I do not charge extra for the cat sitting.
