Pet care experience
You and your dog can expect from me reliability, kindness, patience and a desire to run. I have owned dogs in the past but unfortunately my husband is allergic to most breeds and our condo association doesn't allow for ownership. That should no longer keep me from enjoying dog friendships and I look forward to playing with yours and provide loving care for them. I live in Evanston and work as head of library special collections at an art school in downtown Chicago. Whenever I'm not in the library, I’m outdoors as much as possible and cycle to work all year round. For downtown Chicago, I offer midday and evening walks. For the area around Evanston and up to Glencoe, I offer evening walks Monday - Friday, and walks at any time during the weekend.

Dear Rover organization, I most highly recommend Doro Boehme for your dog walking services & as a dog sitter. I have known Doro for over five years, during which time she has often visited & joined me in walking my own two big dogs, a Pit Bull & a German Shepherd. She is deeply attuned to animals, responsible and thoughtful. She is also extremely trustworthy. I would not hesitate to give her my house keys to walk my dogs, knowing my house would be safe with her. Doro is gentle and firm and loving. Being that she is an adult, she fully understands the importance of said responsibilities; respectful of property and fully attentive to her fellow canine friends.
Doro was amazing with my dog Howard in a way that few people could be. He was high-strung and insecure and tended to act out with most people who met or walked him, especially right after he was rescued. With Doro, it was love at first site. Her calm and stable presence put Howard (and me!) at ease whenever she was with him. She is kind and gentle, able to connect to, communicate with and genuinely enjoy the company of animals. I always trust her with my pets!

A typical day
I live a block away from the beach where I often go for long walks. There are several parks within a few blocks to play fetch in. I have a car and can drive to a dog park if that's what your pet prefers. I am physically fit but also enjoy hanging out with your dog at home if they are less active.
