More Than Just Dogs!
Pet care experience
I have been professionally involved with pet care (all types of pets!) and am an active volunteer with many local rescue groups for several years. I've fostered, transported, cared for and worked with dogs of all breeds and temperaments and have made dogs my whole life! They are a genuine passion and a joy to work with. (I especially like the "challenging" pups, whether they be behaviorally or physically differently-abled animals). References available upon request. I also offer "Poop Fairy" service for weekly or monthly visits starting at just $10 per visit* and Monthly Packages are available for $35 (4 sessions a month)! In addition to dogs, I am experienced with other pets and livestock as well! Reptiles, Insects and Arachnids are no problem for me! I've also regularly cared for chickens, rodents, horses and other livestock. Please see my photos of my happy clienIt's pets!
Reviews
Dori took amazing care of our dogs, ducks, and home. She sent pictures, checked in, and provided a top quality service while we were away. She is excellent at her job and has a wonderful heart for animals. We will definitely hire her for future travels. Quality care and peace of mind?
Dori was very patient with my dog who is afraid of strangers. She stayed in touch with me and sent pictures, which helped me relax. I was very happy with the care she took with my dog.
Dori was great! my dog is very passive, shy and she took the time needed to make him feel comfortable.
Dori L. is great with Sunny. Sunny has some special care needed due to age and health issues. Dori L. has been great in adjusting to her needs. Sunny loves her.

I prefer large, active intelligent breeds... I find we have the best rapport... But I love dogs of all sizes and activity levels. In getting to know a new friend I always want as much background info as possible. Are they a rescue? Have they escaped/bitten/fought/or were abused in the past? Are they fearful? Outgoing? I have never rejected a problem pooch from inclusion of some sort, and sometimes that is just me sharing space with them and gaining their trust. I have a world of patience and all the love to give, especially to pets who are perhaps recovering from a rough past.
A typical day
Play and activities are very personalized - Play with toys is helpful for young dogs and older dogs with high drive. I like to use toys with puppies as it helps to teach them appropriate ways to use their mouth. I am always gentle and never too aggressive, and find play is extremely useful in not only bonding with the dogs, but also in teaching basic manners: stay/wait, sit, down, fetch, etc. For older dogs, a leisurely walk and lots of affection, treats, (when appropriate), massage or gentle play will be encouraged as long as they are into it. ALL dogs I watch will learn and be kindly taught basic manners such as sit/stay/wait in entry passages (humans first)! Proper walking at a heel, etc. UNLESS it contradicts their current curriculum or the wishes of their Guardian(s).
