Normally I walk my own dogs, but after breaking my shoulder in a collision with an energetic pup at the dog park I needed to find a dog walker immediately. Dona was referred to me and she has been perfect. My rescue dog, who is very clingy, was initially unsure about leaving the house with a stranger, but he wanted his walk. Dona was very calm with him and he hesitantly walked out the door with her while looking over his shoulder with me. That was almost two months ago. Soon he was jumping at the door when the bell rang, sitting nicely while Dona put his collar and leash on and barreling out with her. He can by kind of snarky with other dogs but she redirects his attention and lets him know that it's a lot more fun to walk than to stand still and growl. What has been good for me is that she has been very flexible with the time and day that she walks him. I have to admit that even though initially I really wanted to walk him myself I'm getting used to this. I trust her, he trusts her...it's going to be hard to give this up once my shoulder heals.
