Pet care experience
Hi. I'm Dominique, a very responsible woman in the 42-49 age range. I'm a freelance business manager and I have worked from home since 2013. The home I share with my equally animal-loving husband has a small, fenced yard with grass, a patio and an upper garden bed that pups love to poop and dig in. Just 4 houses down, on the same street, is a beautiful playground and beyond that a large green space and enclosed dog park. If boarded with us, Fido will get plenty of attention and just the right amount of activity. If Fido needs lots of walks and exercise, we can do that. If Fido is elderly, injured, heat-sensitive or just a lazy couch potato, we're good with that, too. I'm an experienced caregiver for dogs of all sizes and ages, including "aggressive" breeds, too. Bring on the pit bulls, Am Staffs and Akitas, etc. We live in Windswept Waters and we would love to be a temporary resource for your pet. Bonus: it forces me to look up from the computer more often. Fido and I both need some sunlight and fresh air for work/life balance. Thanks for reading!
Reviews

Dominique and her husband took such amazing care of my older dog reactive dog! She has great communication and photo updates and went above and beyond to make sure my dog was happy and taken care of. I will definitely be using them again in the future!

Dominique was great! She was very kind to accept our dog last minute and was flexible with my schedule. MJ seemed happy and eased into daycare pretty quickly. We received lots of updates and photos. Thanks Dominique!

Absolutely wonderful!! She was available on short notice when we had a cancellation, and then she was super kind, loving, and sent many pictures and video of my doggie even though she was only there for 4 hours. Absolutely amazing and will use her again!!

My boys are usually shy around strangers, but they warmed up to Dominique and Dan right away, and they had a great week filled with walks, snuggles, and snacks.

I have a fenced backyard that is very secure. Dogs will be leashed and/or harnessed any time we are not in the house, backyard or the off-leash dog park in my neighborhood (if appropriate). The front and back yards have cameras so I can keep an eye on any pups who just love laying on the patio in the sun or playing in the rain, beyond what I can comfortably do. You know when they just don’t want to come in?? OK. I can still check on you, sunflower. This helps out front, too, so we know if any dogs or FedEx trucks or other triggers are present before walks. All dogs will be fitted upon arrival with a collar that has my information on it, as well as an Apple AirTag tracking device, just as extra insurance in case Fido bolts out the door (when I grab a package from the porch, for example). I’ve never had to use these but it helps me sleep better. Any dogs overlapping with yours (a couple hours of daycare or overnight) will be dogs I know very well or we will have a visit beforehand for everyone to sniff and investigate. If it doesn’t work out, I prioritize whoever was booked first. We never have more than 3 dogs and the 3 dogs can come from 2 households, max. If you have 3 dogs, yay. If you have 2 and they can handle a playmate for a while, yay. If you have 4 dogs, that’s too much for me to manage with my day job.

Diet needs, medication needs, any behavior issues like separation anxiety or resource guarding, training methods used by owners so I can reinforce those and not deviate too much. No breed preferences.
A typical day
We will mostly walk around my neighborhood of Windswept Waters, including the park and off-leash dog park, if appropriate. I bring pups with me when I run errands, if dog likes car rides and the odd pup cup from Starbucks. If interested and he and Fido are able, though, the hubby likes the odd hike and might bring Fido. Sometimes I will bring a dog to visit friends and their dogs if they would get along. 95% of our time will be chilling at home though. Dogs who do well and enjoy car rides are welcome to come along on errands. We have 2 doggie seatbelts that attach to harnesses. In the past these trips have included everything from picking up curbside orders for groceries, running in to the pharmacy, trips inside Lowe’s or Home Depot, trips to local dog-friendly nurseries, and even a drive in the fall to Wooden Shoe to pick up bulbs for the spring. Pup is virtually guaranteed a pup cup from Starbucks for any car trips. Please tell us ahead of time if pup can’t have those. A couple times each month I bring a dog or two along to lunch at my hubby’s job. Various food trucks show up at the office park and if it’s a good one, pup and I drive over for a lunch date. Then he walks dog around the office park and lets the coworkers pet the pup while I catch up on emails, etc. before returning home. Also lots of snuggling on the sofa a bed, plus some fetch and zoomies in the yard or in the house.

I work as a freelance business manager from home. I can take frequent breaks in the morning or afternoon for play time outside, walks, potty breaks or feeding. Hubby walks pretty much every night after dinner, with dogs or without.
