Caring, Experienced Friend To Dogs

Pet care experience

I have a long and joyful relationship with dogs, both personally and professionally, and giving great care to pups has been a central and important part of my life. I have worked the last four years in dog overnight care and walking, and I worked for three years as a full-time doggie daycare specialist in Tucson, Arizona, where I got good training and lots of on-the-job learning with dogs of all shapes and sizes. I believe in positive communication with dogs in their instinctive language, praising desired behaviors and gently redirecting unwanted ones. I have adopted two small (precious!) shelter dogs, who both started out with behavior challenges and have grown into loving, easy-going family members. I am a writer, which allows me to be in the home most of the time and gives me great flexibility. I know that your dogs (like mine) are treasured members of the family, and I am committed to giving them a safe and happy time in my care.

Doc was absolutely amazing! He took great care of my 5 year old dachshund / min pinscher for a week while I was away and made him feel right at home. Baxter has some separation anxiety, but Doc made sure he was eating by mixing in some wet food into his dry food and made him comfortable in blankets around the house. Doc's two dogs are very sweet and we made sure the three of them got along at a meet and greet in their big back yard. He provided daily updates and pictures. It made traveling so much more pleasant knowing Baxter was being taken such great care of. I'm sure Baxter will be happy to stay with Doc again so we'll be back!

My wife and I have 2 mini-dachshunds and have been using the same Rover sitter for the last 5+ years. Our sitter is no longer doing Rover so we reached out to Doc for a meet & greet. It seemed to go really well and our 2 pups got along well with theirs (after the initial sniff session). We were a bit nervous/anxious using a new sitter after having used our previous one for so long, but it was obvious and Doc & River love animals and took amazing care of them. They have a big back yard and sent us daily photo updates of our pups and theirs- they looked very happy and content. Will be using them again and highly recommend! :)

Very friendly and professional. Responded with compassion when our dog with anxiety was not on his best behavior while staying with them. Would definitely recommend!
