A Lifetime of Dedicated Experience!

Pet care experience

I have over 30 years of experience taking care of a wide variety of animals all over the Greater Boston part of Massachusetts, and now including Memphis, Tennessee! Sending the following information with your initial inquiry will expedite the process and provide you with answers much more efficiently. The more informative your initial message is, the quicker and easier the process will be for both of us, thank you for being thorough! Please let me know: where you're located (general area, cross streets or notable landmarks help!) what dates you'll need care what time(s) you will need care (departure/arrival and what your pet's schedule is like?) Whether or not your pet requires 24/7 supervision This will help me quickly assess whether or not I can accommodate you without wasting your time. UPDATE: Honey accompanies me on my stays in Boston, so dog friendly dogs will have a playmate! She does not join me in Memphis. She is a senior dog, well trained and housebroken, as she is a Service Dog. Please let me know if this will be an issue in advance. She is dog friendly, but very submissive and will ignore other dogs that are uninterested in interacting with her. My care is primarily focused on: - pets that are more comfortable in their own homes - pets that are elderly or disabled - dogs that are not so comfortable with strangers or other dogs - cats - birds - small animals/other exotics. (reptiles, amphibians, rodents, rabbits and ferrets.) I know first-hand, how hard it can be to find a caretaker that works with animals other than dogs! Never be afraid to ask! About My Services This is determined on a case by case basis, depending on client needs! (My rate varies by service.) Services offered: Check-ins/visits feedings dog walks litter changes bird/small animal cages overnights (in your home) . . . and more!* *extra charges may apply for multiple pets, litter boxes or enclosures. Everything is personalized to suit my client's preferences for long-term, reliable assistance in keeping you happy, and your pet excited about our visits. Unless otherwise requested, dogs are walked for 20 minute stretches at a time**. As each animal has their own unique needs, dogs are walked as many times a day as owners request during stays. Please look over services and rates for more information. ** Additional charges MAY apply for extra (or longer) walks! This is determined on a case by case basis, please ask if you have any concerns about your dog's schedule! Every dog has preferences and traits to consider while sitting, and I have many unique experiences. Most of my clients are dogs that can not be kenneled, as they are too old, too young, not socialized for play with other dogs, etc. If your dog has special care requirements, I have years of experience working with many of them! I will stay overnight with your pet IN YOUR HOME. I currently do not have a setup to board animals. This means that I do NOT take animals into MY HOME. Availability for requests is *always* determined based on client needs. I will not double book if the schedules are incompatible. I will also: - visit - socialize - walk - train tricks - and clean up after your pet. My care is not restricted by age, size or breed of your dog. I care for all kinds and sizes of animals. Please do not hesitate to contact me in regards to: dogs, cats, small mammals, reptiles, fish, amphibians, birds or other exotics. I provide care at the following locations. Although I may be able to accommodate clients outside of those listed - please inquire if you're uncertain. Allston Boston Brighton Brookline Cambridge Dedham Hyde Park Jamaica Plain Natick Needham Newton Norwood Readville Somerville Walpole Wellesley West Roxbury Westwood and surrounding areas. . . If you'd like to discuss a booking please do so through the site. I am unable to make arrangements over the phone prior to planning a meet and greet. For this reason I will not call without first determining whether or not we're planning a meet and greet. Thank you for understanding! The exception to this is if the inquiry is incredibly last minute, as in the case of an emergency - and a meet and greet is required within the next 24 hours. About Me I have been caring for a wide variety of pets since childhood. Family, friends, and neighbors have relied on me for everything from cats and dogs, to birds, fish, rodents and reptiles. I have personally owned all of the above and spent years dedicated to studying and hands on learning of proper care for each. I do not believe in offering the bare minimum of duties, your family deserves the same dedication they are given from you even while you're away. My care is personalized to suit my client's preferences for long-term, reliable assistance in keeping you happy, and your pet excited about our visits. As an experienced pet owner, I've had cats all of my life, dogs nearly as long and for years throughout my life I've also been the proud parent/owner of reptiles, amphibians, fish, rodents, birds and more. I have worked, caring for small mammals and birds at my local Petco as well as taken care of the pets for friends and neighbors since childhood. Since the 90's I have had dogs of all ages, from puppies to seniors, breeds and sizes, from a Maltese and fox terrier to German shepherds and huskies. I previously had a (twelve-year-old) Sheltie, and currently have an Australian Cattle Dog! Let me know the proper specifications to care for your dog, and they will be treated just like they would in your care. Note: Orion has passed away. REMINDER: Honey accompanies me on my stays, so dog friendly dogs will have a playmate! She is well trained and housebroken, as she is a Service Dog. Please let me know if this will be an issue in advance. She is dog friendly, but will ignore other dogs that are uninterested in interacting with her.

Dianna helped us with our Pomeranian puppy suffering with separation anxiety. She was respectful of our home, and gave us helpful updates and advice. We appreciated her expertise and professionalism.

Amazing as always. We have a skittish dog and Diana is always patient and caring with them. We always travel better knowing Diana is taking care of our animals.

Dianna always takes such good care of our sweet baby Derek. She is communicative and caring. She goes out of her way to make us and our pup comfortable. We couldn’t recommend her enough!

I keep your pets life as close to what they're used to as possible in your absence! If your dog goes out every two hours, they will be taken out as often as needed. If your dog is used to being alone and you'd rather that be consistent they will be crated during their normal hours. I am extremely flexible and work to only take on clients who line up with my availability during that time.

Information Dianna A. would like to know about your pet

Naturally, the first things I would like to know are owner preferences. Any set rules your dog is expected to obey (no human food/not allowed on furniture), and the sort of care you'd like them to have while with me (Three 20 minute walks a day etc.). Breed, size and training would also be important to know. Although I could easily handle a 5 pound dog with no training, a large dog that could easily overpower me would need to be obedient enough for me to handle. As this varies from dog to dog, I would like to spend time with any potential clients before committing to caring for them. I have a care form that I will e-mail potential clients to fill out before sitting for them!

A typical day

Time I'll spend with your dog Each dog's needs vary, a more energetic/larger dog may require longer walks and play time than a small breed or senior pet. We would discuss and determine your individual pet's requirements before agreeing to walking or sitting your pet. If your dog is very social and LOVES attention I will spend more time keeping them entertained than if they tire easily and prefer quiet alone time to themselves. Energetic dogs will also have Honey to play with! She is a bit older herself now, but will still play given the option. Extra house-sitting services I would be happy to water plants, bring in mail/newspapers and assure certain lights are on/off if house sitting for a family. Change litter boxes and feed any animals in the house. Let me know of any extra services you'll need during the stay.
