Safe Haven For Your Loved One

Pet care experience

I am a experienced pet lover with over 40 years of experience with tiny to giant breed dogs. I volunteered for a dog rescue group for 15 years rescuing, fostering, and placing unwanted dogs into loving homes. Through foster care, I became experienced with many breeds, every age and size. I learned about various temperaments and specific needs, medical conditions, and how to care for dogs both individually and in groups. I believe our companion pets are part of our family and should be treated as such. My home is pet friendly and a fenced in yard is provided for your pet while under my supervision. Your pet will be taken care of according to your specific instructions in addition to loving care, cuddles, companionship, exercise, and playtime. I work from home and am available most days including holidays. I am experienced with all ages, temperaments, medical conditions, and other special needs such as administration of oral, topical, or insulin medications. Since I have dogs of my own, I know the importance of consistent communication. I like to take lots of photos during a stay and send them with updates on how your beloved pet is doing. I would be honored to offer your cherished pet safe and loving care while you are away from them. ****Beginning January 6, 2019 due to changes within Rover, please note the changes occurring with my fees related to drop off and pick up times for boarding and for daycare: BOARDING: If you drop off your dog/s and pick up time is more than 3 hours after initial drop off time, an additional charge will apply. Boarding rates are for a 24 hour period. For example: if you drop your dog/s off at 8 am the boarding fee covers the time until 8 am the next morning. If you pick your dog/s up after the 3 hour window a daycare fee will be charged for the additional time for pick up. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. DAYCARE: Daycare fee covers 8 hours. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Please be as accurate as possible with your drip off and pick up times. I am home most of the time but I do go out on occasion. I plan my outings around my Rover business and appreciate drop off and pick up to be completed by the time you designate. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you for your understanding and I look forward to take care of your beloved pet/s.

Been taking my pup to Diane for over a year now. She treats him like her own and he loves it at her house! I would highly recommend Diane, she is great!

Diane and her family were great with Mabel! They went above and beyond to make her comfortable in their home and took her last-minute when I was looking for a sitter. We loved all the pictures during her stay. Would definitely have Diane watch Mabel again.

Information Diane S. would like to know about your pet

I have no breed preference. Knowing your pet’s feeding, exercise, medication, and walk schedule will provide me the information to keep your pet on schedule. In addition, I would like to know if your dog (s) interacts well with other dogs. If possible, I would prefer to schedule a meet & greet with my dogs before your dog (s) comes to stay. Crates: I do not use crates unless requested and provided by the owner. Separate feeding and storage : Individual feeding areas are always provided. Each guest is fed individually and is supervised. Food and treats are always stored separately. Veterinary Requirements: Please make sure your dog is up to date on vaccines, as well as flea and tick preventative. This is for the protection of all dogs under my care. A current identification tag on their collar is also recommended. Below is a short list of items to help make your dog (s) stay as comfortable as possible: 1. Food , instructions on how often, time and amount 2. Leash and collar or harness (I do not use retractable leashes on walks) 3. Bed, blanket ,or toys (these are not needed but are welcomed)

A typical day

I enjoy walks and love to take Bella or Chubbs with me. Your beloved pet will enjoy a walk in my safe neighborhood. Right down the street is the Neuse River Trail that provides a great place for dog walking. Please note: During the summer months, play time and walks are limited due to the heat and humidity. I have a nice size yard where we can play frisbee or fetch and cuddles are super abundant at my home. Oh and I love talking to my two. I swear they understand me.
