Pet care experience
I will care for your pets as my own. I know first hand how stressful it is to travel and leave your best friend behind. I can offer a safe, loving environment for your pet to stay while you're away. I can also offer peace of mind that your pet is not left at home all day alone. If you're coming down for vacation I can spend time with your pet while you're out enjoying yourself. I've worked as a Veterinary Technician for 20 years before moving to the Florida Keys in 2021. Before that I volunteered at the ASPCA in Bermuda for 2 years, mostly walking dogs and helping with adoptions. I recently moved to the Keys after building our home here several years ago. I started working with Rover in 2019 but have been pet sitting on my own for many years. I have 1 rescue dog and 1 diabetic, rescue cat. In my spare time I like to sail, kayak, play pickleball, hike and ride my motorcycle. I recently purchased a stand up paddle board and am trying to master that! I enjoy yoga, music, ziplining, skydiving, gardening, traveling and St. Louis Cardinals baseball! I also volunteer at the Baptist Church food pantry and for the Florida Keys Save a Turtle organization. In the time I lived in Louisville and St. Louis I volunteered assisting in surgery for TNR programs for unowned cats. In St. Louis I volunteered for Bi State Pet Food Pantry which helps low income individuals keep their pets by supplying pet food and other essential items. In my last year in St.Louis I also volunteered at The Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House. In Louisville I helped with vaccine clinics for Pets 4Life and assisted with surgeries for Alley Cat Advocates. I have fostered numerous dogs over the years until they find their forever homes. Often I fostered dogs after surgeries or illnesses until they were healthy enough for adoption. I am able to give oral medications and injections if needed. For boarding in my home I require that your pup is dog friendly, potty trained and up to date on core vaccinations unless for health reasons is unable to be vaccinated. I also require that they are on flea and tick prevention. You are are welcome to bring any of their bedding or toys that will make them more comfortable. I do prefer that you bring their regular food to prevent upset tummies. You can rest assured that safety is my number one priority when looking after your baby. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. At the moment I'm not working so I am very flexible to help you with your pets needs. I am available for pick up and drop off if needed. I can transport your pets to vet or grooming appointments as well. Please contact me if you'd like to set up a time for me to meet you and your fur baby. I have a very friendly dog named Walter to help keep your pup company. I also have a kitty so I prefer that your pup be cat friendly. I do have the ability to keep my cat separate if needed. I have a fenced yard where I can supervise your pup but we will probably go for walks if that is what your pup is used to. We do live on a canal so if that is an issue we can strictly do leash walks. In my home pets are allowed on the furniture! There are no children in my home. For drop in visits I can check your mail, water plants and anything else you may need, as well as taking care of your pets.
Reviews
Great job and great communication! Thanks for watching our pups!
Diane is sweet, Skipper loves her. We have used her twice while visiting Islamorada.
Best experience with Rover so far!!! Went above and beyond
Highly recommend Diane. She helped us out by letting our dog Bailey out to potty on a day's notice. She arrived on time and let us know how the visits went. I felt comfortable knowing our baby was in good hands.

I have a fenced yard on a canal. Safety is my number one priority so if your pup is small or not familiar with the water we will keep them leashed when outside. We do leash walks when it is not too hot out. We go out for potty breaks every 2-4 hours.

Information Diane K. would like to know about your pet
Are they potty trained and pet friendly? Are there any special needs or medications that will need to be given? Where do they like to sleep? Do they get crated when you are away? Do they have any allergies? Are they allowed to have treats? Who is their veterinarian in case of an emergency?
A typical day
I enjoy going for long walks and can take your dog to the dog park if that is what they're used to. We can play with they're favorite toys and they'll get lots of belly rubs!
