Pet care experience
Up until the past year, I have always had pets. Everything from dogs and cats to turtles and gerbils. All of my pets were rescues. I have worked in pet nutrition and behavioral therapy. I have rehabilitated dogs with physical issues as well as those with aggression issues. Bottom line is that I would love and care for your pet as if it were my own because every pet deserves to feel a part of the family, even if their every day family is unavailable.

Diane was great with our two dogs over the Christmas holiday. She was very understanding with our eldery lab. He even slept in her bed. She handled the antics of a young energetic chow with no problems. She was a blessing. We would not of been able to visit family out of town with out her. Now we know who to call when we want to do something with out the dogs.
Her approach was amazing! My babies are rescues that spent several months in a kennel so it takes a while for them to warm up to new people. I was baffled when we first met miss Diane because she didn't give my dogs much attention initially. Most people who know that they are shy try to pet them right away. Miss Diane spoke to them but never tried to pet therm. After about 10 minutes, she just sat down on my floor with them but still didn't reach out to them. Another 5 minutes and they were both trying to crawl in her lap. I couldn't believe it! She is their favorite sitter now.
I was apprehensive about someone coming into my house to let Bogart out while I was away on vacation. But Diane was very responsible and took excellent care of Bogart. She even brought in my mail. I was thankful because I forgot to make arrangements before I left.

I'd like to know if your dogs get along with other dogs. I like taking my fuzzy guests on walks and to the park. So it's important to know how they react to other dogs. Also, I'd like to know if your pet has any special needs. I will do everything possible to accommodate or follow your training plan. It would be helpful to know if they're potty trained. It's okay if they aren't, I would just need to know to plan accordingly.
A typical day
I believe consistency is best for dogs so whatever the rules are at home will be the rules at my house. I like to make sure that the pets I'm caring for are comfortable and enjoying themselves. I generally take them on a couple of walks a day and to the park every other day, depending on the weather. I will be happy to assist or put together a training plan for issues like potty training or socialization. There may be an additional charge for those services however.
