I have loved animals all my life. When my family moved out into the country 40+ years ago, we had dogs, cats, horses, and even a canary! I have almost always been responsible for a pet, whether it is a dog, a cat, or a bird. At one time I had 2 parakeets, 3 cats, and one dog in my apartment. Wherever I have lived, I made sure that pets would be accepted. I currently house 4 senior cats and a very senior (17+) dog. They are part of my family, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I believe when a person gets a pet, he/she needs to take the responsibility quite seriously. I also am an advocate of spaying and neutering your pet.
