Hi there! My name is Didi and I have been working with animals since I was 16. I currently work as a office assistant at a small business with the option to work from home partially if necessary. I am a recent UBC Psych grad. I was a Senior volunteer at the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) in Selangor, Malaysia before starting school here in Canada. I am also a current cat behaviour therapist at the BCSPCA in Vancouver. I have experience working with dogs that are particularly nervous on leash and who are reactive to other dogs or to people. I currently also work as a dog walker with a few dog walking agencies in Vancouver. I prefer to walk dogs on a 1 on 1 basis (or fogs from the same household) just so that I can focus all my attention on them. I honestly love working with animals and can even assist in basic training (sit, stay, down, heel among others) I will be commuting to your location and therefore would appreciate any change in plans a day in advance just so I can work my travelling around your schedule. Specific skills: General - former Senior Volunteer and casual staff at SPCA Selangor (Malaysia) - current volunteer at BCSPCA (Vancouver) working with Cats as wellness therapist - comfortable administering medications/ following strict dietary plans and restrictions Dogs - prefer to walk dogs on a 1 on 1 basis but can walk 2 dogs at the same time if necessary - experience with leash reactive dogs - basic training (sit, stay, down, heel) - can design and assist with intensive puppy/ dog training programs (separation anxiety, reactivity, aggression etc.) - experience with dogs reactive to other dogs or to people - experience working with dogs of many breeds - experience working with puppies, teenage, adults, and seniors Cats - owner of 3 cats in Malaysia - experience with nervous / depressed cats from the shelter - experience with seniors, adults, and kittens - experience with cats that tend to "act out" Small animals - experience caring for rabbits, rats, guinea pigs and hamsers at SPCA Selangor shelter Exotic animals - no firsthand experience but will follow your instructions closely and will contact with any queries
