On the third day of her overnight dog sitting stay, Devyn sent a text (she never called to TALK to us) stating that she “…had talked to Rover Support and she could not stay at our house…” and ended her overnight dog sitting job with us. We had only had positive interaction with Devyn from the first meeting thru the first couple days of our vacation, so this was a huge surprise. She did not provide a reason for this decision. She was in such a rush to leave that she forgot items in our home. She did not care about abandoning our dogs while we were out of town. Our vacation was cut short since we had to fly back immediately to care for our dogs. After Devyn quit, she provided a list of complaints, many of which were ridiculous, or items she should have been taking care of as part of her job duties. Each “problem” could have been addressed had she told us there was a concern, but she said nothing prior to quitting. This is not normal, professional behavior. Rover allowed Devyn to quit but offered to have a stranger come and feed our dogs. This was not an acceptable option since we wanted overnight dog sitting. We would NOT RECOMMEND Devyn to dog sit your fur babies. When we returned home we found that she had left electronics on, lights on, splattered food in the microwave, clean, unused potty pads in a garbage can, and NO MOLD in our guest room as she told Rover. We assume that she greatly exaggerated the situation in our house when she talked to Rover support in order to have them release her from her overnight stay contract. We found that Devyn’s profile was not correct when we hired her for a week vacation in Arizona. She did not care for our dogs “as she would care for her own.” Nor did she “ensure behavior expectations” were upheld. She did not provide potty breaks for our dogs every two hours, and she did not “love our dogs…” I have a checklist for what to do each day, and she did not follow it. Devyn created stress for us, our dogs and ruined our vacation.

Devyn was great with my pets and my home. She sent us daily updates of pictures as well as information about their day. My dog has a sensitive stomach and he got sick while we were gone. Devyn text me right away letting me know and gave me updates as he got better. I was super thankful she was kind with him and had the patience to clean up a not so fun mess. I appreciated all her communication as the week went on as well. I plan on using Devyn again if she can and would highly recommend her.
