I am a full time Data-Scientist and typically three days out of the week I am home full time. Two or three days a week I go into the office for a half day either morning or afternoon depending on meetings which means the most time in a crate would be 5 hours at most in a given day. Otherwise the pups are out on the main floor with me and I usually take them out for playtime in the yard at lunch, late afternoon walk is about 4pm most days and then playtime until dinner at 5. Dogs will need to be crate trained in this case and overnight will need to be crate trained as the dogs will be in their crate to sleep but this is monitored and I am up early each day regardless.
