I love animals, and have been working with them all my life. I have experience with horses, cats, fish, reptiles, you name it, and especially dogs! In my teens, I began training and desensitizing rescue dogs as an apprentice under a professional trainer in Ohio and continued training rescues through college. In college, I studied Zoo & Conservation Science, as well as Environmental Science. Through my studies, I expanded my knowledge on animal behavior, nutrition, training, and treatment of health issues. I have volunteered with various dog rescue organizations for years, including the Ohio SPCA and Central Ohio Dog Rescue, my family's foster-based rescue. I have also volunteered with the Ohio Wildlife Center, where I gained hands-on experience handling and medicating injured wildlife, from birds of prey to opossums (so dogs seem especially easy to me now!). Additionally, I have been dog sitting for family, friends, friends of friends, and fellow animal rescuers since I was 16. I'm a very active person, and my favorite past times include hiking and adventuring with my own pup. I have experience with all kinds of dogs, from puppies to seniors and special needs. I would love to love your dog(s) like my own! I work primarily remote, and I’m able to be remote as needed to watch dogs. I have a flexible schedule enabling me to provide a couple of walks or drop ins during the day. I’m opening up my home to boarders, and if that’s the case, I will close walks/drop ins during that time but will be remote and able to care for your dog and be with your dog throughout the day. I take my own dog on long walks and/or runs in the morning and at night, and usually a short walk during lunchtime. On the weekends, we head out to the mountains for some hikes or time on the water. He’s as flexible as me, though, so we can adjust to the needs and schedule of your dog! I am also available for house sitting if preferred if my dog is allowed to join. He is friendly with other dogs and potty trained, and will be under my supervision the entire time (as will your pup!), but is not good with cats. As such, we cannot house sit for homes with cats at this time. I live in a house with my own dog and a fenced in yard. As long as the dogs get along, we love additional pup guests! Dogs are allowed on the furniture, as well. I can adjust to the schedule of your dog’s needs, and my dog is very used to new dogs in and out from when we used to foster, so he’s pretty laid back about adjusting, too. I’d also love to take your dog out for adventures, if you’re comfortable with it. I do separate dogs for feeding, but I do not keep a crate in my home. If a crate is needed, I ask you bring your own for your pup’s stay. I am also willing to watch dogs in their own homes, however, my dog does need to come with. I will be with the dogs the entire time. If you and your dog are comfortable with that, we are both laid back and able to adjust to the needs and routines of your pup. 😊
